Well Fes was a bit manic anyway and we hadn't booked anywhere so it was lucky that Pension Kawtar had a spare room for us. It was a shame the our room was right next to the loos so we could hear flushing throughout the night. Also the only window in the room was about 20cm square so it was VERY stuffy. In fact I slept on the roof terrace for one night, though they didn't have any mattresses so I just slept on the tile roof (still slept better than in the room though!)
The management are really really lovely.
The Pension is within very easy walking distance of the action and all the sights, which is good, but is down loads of winding and dark alleys - a bit intimidating if you first arrive at night, but you get used to it quickly.
Fes was amazing and I urge anyone to go there, but I'm quite a seasoned traveller and I was freaked out by the craziness of the place! Enjoy!
Top tip: don't have the breakfast on the roof terrace at Pension Kawtar - it's really terrible.
