This hotel looks nice and has a lot of good feaures, but the desk clerk the night I checked in wasn't one. He took a long time to check in the 2 women who were at the desk when I got there. And he did seem to know them, not just talking to them as guests at the hotel. I asked for a room that I wouldn't have to walk far to, and got one only half way down the hall instead of clear at the end. He did tell me that he was new and wasn't familiar with where the rooms were actually located, and offered to help me with my luggage. And I believe the top floor is smoking, so the choices were probably a bit limited by the time I checked in.
The room itself was large and clean, but laid out a bit strangly I thought. Upon entering the room, the sink and vanity were on the right, and there was a room on the left that had the toilet and tub/shower in it, with a very heavy door that if you'd needed to leave it open (claustrophobic or travelling with kids, for instance) would have had to be propped open. It was very quiet considering its proximity to the interstate. The bed was too soft to be comfortable for me. There was a nice large screen TV and good work area. The lamp on the desk had two outlets for plugging things in. I'm seeing more of this and I like it! The internet was a bit slow tho.
The breakfast was great. In addition to the usual (breads, fruit, cereal, juices, coffee), they had a pancake maker (kinda like a photocopier--push a button and a hot pancake drops out the end in a minute) and a steamtable with scrambled eggs, sausage patties, gravy and biscuits.
It wasn't a bad place to stay, but if I stop there again, I would probably try one of the other hotels nearby for comparison if nothing else.
