I rarely give 5 stars, but this hotel deserves it. Location is excellent as it is quite central (with the YMCA a ways up the street on Hawthorne if you are an out-of-state member). For me, it was an easy entry from the street by entering via the Broad Street side. The best part of this place is the breakfast. It is a true hot breakfast with all the standard cold offerings. I stayed almost a week, and they changed the meat and side dish every day. Usually you will get eggs or omelet, bacon or sausage (link and patty), and various forms of potato. The staff was very nice and helpful. Highly recommend that you check this one out.

A week after our stay, I realized I had left an earring in our room. After contacting the hotel, the housekeeping manager not only mailed me my earring, but refused a reward. Our room was clean and comfortable, but knowing they care even after you leave is PRICELESS. It is hard to find customer service like that these days.

This place was one of the worst hotels we've ever stayed at. We usually like Hampton Inns.... but not this one. The room bathrooms were disgusting....black dirt and grime in the shower and the sink areas. I had to shield my eyes because it was so bad. Our room didn't even have a tub. The shower was at the same level as the bathroom floor....the water would spray out into the rest of the bathroom. The room was extremely dusty. The front desk attendant was unfriendly. It was freezing in the lobby area, as the A/C was turned up really high.

I stayed here for business in May, 2009. The hotel inside is very nice, with newly decorated guest rooms and a nice lobby. The staff were all very good, my biggest complaint about this hotel was the location. The hotel is very difficult to get into. When you approach on Broad St., you have to turn right on Hawthorne to enter the hotel. The entrance on Hawthorne is usually blocked by traffic during the day, forcing you to drive farther up Hawthorne and make a u-turn to get into the hotel. There are several other good choices in a similar price range that are closer to downtown.
