The Lincoln Memorial is such a reverent, beautiful place. Super crowded at twilight, but totally worth it. It's so special you don't even notice all the people!

“Lincoln Memorial a must see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2010

This memorial is so impressive no matter when you go. We were overwhelmed. Take time to enjoy the view back towards the capital. And see the flanking memorials, the Korean, and the Wall. Very moving.

“Go at night, go at night, go at night!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 June 2010

Did I mention go at night? It is so spectacular and moving to approach this memorial in the dark, all lit up, to walk the stairs and get your first glimpse of the massive, seated Lincoln beyond the columns. Staring at his powerful, heavy posture and thoughtful face. Reading the Gettysburg Address. Then sitting on the stairs with the rest of the visitors, being proud to be American (you just can't help it!) while gazing out at the Washington Monument, reflected in the long pool in front of you. Oh, and it looks pretty impressive from the water as well.

“Worth it to see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2010

I have been a couple of times, but it was my first time going at night. It was beautiful and its great because its staffed until midnight. We had an extremely full day and decided to do the Lincoln Memorial after dinner. It was beautiful seeing the Memorial and the reflecting pool at night.
