“Adequate for an overnight stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

We stayed at this B and B for a single night in mid-December. It is conveniently located close to the Interislander ferry terminal. The views are blocked by a large motel complex across the road. We paid $130 for a nights accommodation and a continental breakfast. The room was a good size and comfortable although the ensuite was somewhat small. It was an unremarkable place to stay but clean and comfortable.

“Well priced, keen and accommodating”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2011

Great location, very clean and comfortable. Caring, helpful management. Picton is worth a longer visit than most people give it. Don't miss taking a boat out to get on the Queen Charlotte walking track, stay over or get picked up later in the day. Great and not too taxing. We just had to return to do some more of this lovely walk.

“Wonderful quiet and friendly place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

Wonderful place to stay for anyone on a non extravagent budget. Extremely friendly hosts, which really made it for us. Lovely homely feel. Lovely breakfast in a nice living area.
Whole property extremely clean, homely, very nicely decorated and professionally upkept.
Frontage definitely needs sprucing up, as it doesn't adequately portray the wondeful interior. New managers are working on this. Definitely need new flags and one idea I would have would be window boxes perhaps?

Room Tip: All rooms looked lovely.

“Lovely stay with friendly hosts”

We had a lovely stay at the Admirals Lodge with John and Glory - I believe they were new managers that had only been there a couple of weeks.

We found the lodge as we were driving around Picton looking for somewhere to stay and noticed their sandwich board sign with the nights prices on it. We had a clean and tidy double room with flat screen tv and ensuite - and it suited us perfectly for our one night stopover. Glory served us a simple but lovely breakfast in the kitchen/lounge in the morning - which was all included in the price.

“Definitely not a 4 star rating”

Read reviews and looked forward to staying here! Very disappointed! We had the Captain's Cabin and were told we wouldn't need/want to leave. There was outside seating but It was raining and there was no indoor seating (except the bed). The outside BBQ had cockroaches in it and little gas - no outside light- had to ask for a pot and plates. Torch supplied but didn't work. Inside - only 1 out of 3 light bulbs in main light worked and shade was hanging off that, no Sky TV - only very old TV with 3 chanels, no hairdryer. Breakfast was included but 3 days supply was left at start and not refilled. Fridge was so small very little fitted in it. There was no room service at all - extra towels could be collected in main house if you wanted more than 1 towel for 3 days. Didn't see rooms in the main house to know it they were any different. At $150 per night this room was not worth the money and certainly not 4 star quality. There was internet access for those who wanted it and it was very central to the waterfront.
