Warm and welcoming, Bruce, Carol and Laura (and Harry!) are exceptionally generous hosts who love their little slice of paradise and are delighted to share it with you. The main house facilities are just gorgeous and the view from the verandah will take your breath away. We stayed in the Boathouse room which is luxurious, comfortable and private, with everything you could possibly want. We chose our breakfast from an imaginative menu and it did not disappoint. Bruce has a bit of a local reputation for his eggs, but to understand how good they really are you are just going to have to try. We'll certainly be going back for more!

We've stayed at countless B&B's in the U.S., but had to go all the way to New Zealand to find the best! The breakfasts were gourmet, the accommodations were first class, and the hosts, Carol & Bruce were the friendliest couple to talk with. After a long journey through New Zealand it was so nice to meet friendly people to end our most wonderful vacation.

Mason de la Mer is a truly wonderful and relaxing place.The property is amazing and no attention to detail has been spared.I particularly loved the fresh flowers everywhere.Our hosts Carol,Bruce and Lara had the special ability to make us feel extremely welcome and relaxed.
we stayed in the beautifully appointed and spacious boat house suite which was a haven after returning from our daily excursions.The breakfasts were outstanding,wonderfully presented with a personal touch and tasted scrumptious.
We can thoroughly recommend this little gem .

We decided to end our NZ holiday in a relaxing place and the Maison de la Mer filled that requirement perfectly. Bruce and Carol were the perfect hosts and Carol's breakfasts matched any of the 5 star hotels me stayed in during our previous 2 weeks in NZ. Highly recommend this place.
