I stayed at the Victorija Hotel Vilnius on the nights of July 7th-9th 2006.
The hotel is about a good 20-25 minute walk to the old town ( about 3km).
Some rooms are much better than others as you will see by the rates.
Get a renovated room it will pay off as this is a budget hotel.
The rooms were clean the reasonaly priced rooms have older facilities in them.
The rooms do have t.v. , a mini fridge , en-suite bathroom ,along with very comfortable beds. The breakfast is complementary is served on the 3rd floor. The "Tropic Bar" on the third floor is never open. The halls of the hotel remind you of a turn of the century building that are dimly lit which could be eerie at night. The hotel is not in the best of location
yet there are buses that run by the hotel to town for $2.00 LTL.($0.80 U.S.cents)
A cab will cost you about $15.00 LTL. ($6.00 USD) A cab to the airport which takes about 15 minutes will cost about $35.00-40.00 LTL. ($13-$17 USD).
The staff isn't very helpful as they usually tell you "I don't know" to a lot of general questions,which usually means ask the locals. There are a couple of stores along with a restaurant nearby.For those who want a budget hotel I would recommend this place, it is safe & secure.For those who want to be right downtown then skip this place.
