“Amazing new and beautifully furnished rooms. Great value for the quality.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

The rooms are absolutely fantastic. Modern and with all mod cons and even a purple neon lighting in the bathroom. Big comfortable bed, internet, great lighting
I was quite amazed at the standard of the rooms for the price
I live in hotels all year in many different countries and this hotel really stuck in my mind as excellent value.
The only problem may be the location, for those that want to be in the centre of Bratislava
Reception could be trained a little better aswell
But otherwise an unrecognised and undervalued hotel

“Ideal for conferences”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

I can recommend Hotel Chopin for conferences - everything was prepared as we wished, conference manager was totally kind and helpful - she did miracles in a while :)
Chopin has flexible rooms for conferences, which can modify also during the day (parallel tracks).
Thanks a lot for great event and client´s satisfaction :)

“Business Hotel Nr BTS Airport”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

This is a good business hotel 5 mins from BTS.
From a business point of view, it has everything you need.

Rooms are smart clean and wifi'd
TV is full Sat.

Breakfast is perfunctory affair with clientele being mainly business people don't expect much conversation.

There is a shopping mall nearby if you fancy a change from the hotel restaurant which is perfectly adequate.

One for those in transit or airport meetings I guess.

“a disaster from start to finish!”

I had read all the positive reviews for this hotel and booked for an overnight before our flight home from Bratislava airport. Well, what can I say, our experience was, unfortunately, very different from other people's. We booked half board for myself, daughter and grandson thinking we would enjoy a nice dinner and a good night's sleep on the last night of our holiday. On arrival at the hotel check is was fine until they said "breakfast is between 6.30 and whatever it was. We stated that we had booked half board which seemed to confuse them, even though our accommodation voucher stated half board. The receptionist said they would check it out and to come for dinner at 7 pm (exactly!) even though the restaurant was open for hours. We duly arrived at 7 pm and were told to sit down. I asked the receptionist if we had free choice from the menu or if there was a maximum price we could spend as happens in many hotels for half board. She said "sit down and the waiter will come " - we did! About 5 minutes later the waiter appeared with 3 bowls of soup which he put down in front of us. We asked what it was and were told onion soup. We asked if we could see the menu and were told "no"! We sked if there was a set menu and were met with a shrug of the shoulders. Assuming that things may be different in Slovakia, we attempted to eat the luke warm soup. Halfway throught he soup the waiter appeared with "seconds" as he called it. A plate of processed chicken and paprika potatoes smothered in gravy (we had to ask what it was!) Again we asked could we choose from the menu and were told "no" We asked why we were being served different food to all other guests and were rewarded with another shrug of the shoulders. We again struggled with the food as we were hungry and there was no sign of anything else coming. Our 8 year old was by this time upset as he couldn't eat the food. Dessert ...just didn't appear! Also no-one asked if we would like a drink with our meal. At this point we asked to speak to the manager. He did attempt to sort it out and offered a free drink! He also arranged chips and pasta for my grandson. We asked why we had been denied choice from the menu and he said "I don't know" I suggested that he might like to find out why. From that point on the staff ignored us until we left the following morning. The food was awful at breakfast too. All the staff were rude and extrememly unhelpful. The room was fine but extremely hot and the air conditioning didn't appear to be working properly. It was very clean though and comfortable. What should have been a nice ending to a perfect holiday in Vienna turned out to be a compete disaster and a horrible experience. I noticed that the managing director reads these reviews and hope to get a response as I am extremely doubtful that the comment card we handed in to reception when we checked out will be returned to the head office.

Dear guest,

Thank you for your stay at the Chopin Hotel Bratislava and for sharing your experience with us.
We are very sorry we were not able to fully satisfy your expectations and we would like to apologize for causing inconveniences to you and your family.
Our standard halfboard policy is always an option from at least two meals. That´s why I was very surprised to read your review. As far as I have investigated it seems that you were victim of a chain of unfortunate circumstances, which I sincerely regret.
Your comments and feedback were discussed internally and we will take necessary actions to avoid a similar situation in the future.
We can understand your frustration and are very sorry about the impression you got about our employees and our hotel. We hope to get another chance to completely re-establish your opinion about our hotel towards you and your family during your next stay in Bratislava.

Best regards,

Marek Harbulak
