We knew virtually nothing about Bratislava before our trip, but this hotel looked like it was a in good location close to everything and easy to get to. We were pleasantly surprised with nearly everything about this hotel.
First, the location is truly wonderful. It's only a short walk to Hviezdoslavovo Square, home to the Opera, Philharmonic, and many wonderful sidewalk cafes (along with an embarrassingly garish USA Embassy). It's also easy to get to from either the train station (take the 13 tram to Nam L Stura) or the Twin Cities Liner dock. Once you're there if you're doing the usual tourist thing the only reason you'll need public transit is to go out to Devin Castle.
The rooms were nice and newly done in a boutique hotel style (clean lines, euro-modern styling) with very few rooms on each floor that keeps the noise down. Air conditioning and flat screen TVs seem to be in all rooms. The bathroom was very nice with a full tub, large vanity, towel warmer, etc. Wired internet is provided in the rooms, you can get a cable by asking the front desk. We found it to be very reliable.
The first floor of the hotel serves as a very small lobby and bar/coffee shop. In the back is the hotel restaurant. We only visited the restaurant for our included breakfast which was a typical European breakfast of meats, cheeses, yogurt, breads, fruits, and eggs if one desired. Nothing spectacular, but quite nice with excellent service.
If we're ever back in Bratislava, this will be the first place we look for someplace to stay.
