We spent a great weekend at the Spirit Hotel during the last hot weekend of the summer. We rented a suite for my wife, teenage daughter and me, which was perfect having separate bathrooms and 2 TVs! The suite had all the facilities you would expect, with tea/coffee maker and complementary fruit and water. The rooms are very stylish and modern, although the low ceilings in the restaurant reminded us of a cruise ship.
The pools and spa area are really impressive - large, spacious and lots of sunbeds. The materials used are pretty luxurious, with lots of marble, glass and impressive architecture. We were glad of the space, but wondered what this place is like in Winter.
The restaurant was good, with a buffet with excellent quality, although the service at dinner was slow and inattentive. This was just bad luck, as the breakfast service was excellent.
The outside area was perfect with spacious grounds and lots of pools.
Positive: lots of space, luxurious, great design, wonderful pools.
Negative: rather expensive. Even higher than competing hotels over the border in Austria, which beat the Spirit Hotel on service and cuisine. We we here for one night, just over 24 hours in total and still I virtually had to beg for a late check-out, which is almost standard procedure for a weekend getaway. They wanted to charge 35 Euros for a late check-out, but after pleading twice and saying it was my birthday (it was!), we finally got one. Poor.
On the whole good but not excellent - for this kind of money they have to try MUCH harder.
