“I love this place!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

Yes it's down a dark street and yes it's not the cleanest hotel in the world but the atmosphere is totally worth it and we didn't feel unsafe in the area. Why stay in a hotel that once the door is closed could be any city in the world? Somehow we ended up in a suite with a separate kitchen, laundry, sitting room and bedroom. The huge windows opened right up and we certainly felt like we were in Budapest. Easy access to the river by tram. Had a great night out at Old Man's Music Club nearby.

“What a disaster of a "hotel". Avoid this!”

3stars? When was that from, 1991!?? Unfortunately I had booked a week stay here, since the moment I arrived it's been one bad thing after another. The hotels is in tucked in a dark ally way of an not so safe area of city center, with bums peeing, spray paints on walls, hotel's front entry is dark with ripped flags sadly hanging over.
The bored looking college student receptionist spoke broken English and was no help on getting around or info about the city...their best answer was "maybe tomorrow" "ummm, I don't know" I mean are they even Hungarian!?
By saving money on electricity the hotel keeps a very Eerie dimly lit hallways and complete dark court yard, perfect for a horror movie! Stains on carpets all over. Squeaky elevator. Disgusting cold breakfast with raw eggs. TVs doesn't work. Barely working Wifi only in lobby.
Besides the scary hallways, even anything should happen in your room the receptionist couldn't be reached, cause they don't even know how to use the in room phone. They just say "I think it's broken"
Including myself there were probably only 4-5 rooms taken in a building of 40 something, very creepy .... And yet you can't get the service you'd receive in a trucker motel off a busy highway. Like fresh towels, soap, new sheets ...

This place is a joke, please avoid!

“Don't stay here”

We had booked a different hotel but when we arrived we were told they were overbooked and that they had arranged for us to stay here. There were heavy roadworks going on and open sewers everywhere, the rooms were tiny the tv's did not work and the staff were all miserable.

BAD EXPERIENCE !

“We had bed bugs in our room and would not recommend this hotel to anyone!”

Me and My girlfriend had booked four nights at this hotel around new years eve after a recommendation in a guide book. But we only stayed two nights. The first day our shower broke down. Then we were moved to a new room. Next morning we had bed bugs all over the place and more then 100 bites. When we complained the staff told us they knew about this problem in this
particular room. Then we moved to another hotel which was the best choice om our trip. Except from this
the breakfast is not fresh, internet only works in the lobby and the rooms are situated next to trash and the location is quite boring.

“Not again, thanks.”

Booked the hotel because of the location, price and needed internet connection. Wired internet worked for 5 min in the room and was reconnected just before our check-out. The room very worn-out and not especially clean. Do they ever use a vacuum cleaner? The wall-to-wall carpet quite disgusting... Parking facilities in the courtyard for a fee of 15 euro, out in the street free of charge at nighttime.
