“Avoid if you can”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

The hotel is one big disappointment. Very weak support from the reception desk. Reception much more like in hostel than in hotel. Rooms small and not well maintained. Not cleaned frequently beneath the bed. I was in December, it was cold and the room was underheated. Somewhere, on the roof a terrible infernal machine "echoed" very loudly so that it was difficult to sleep. breakfast very poor and again like in hostel. Avoid if you can. One good thing: 10-15 min walking distance from the railway station. 20 min to the main square.

“Basic business hotel; you could do better.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

The Silfor does have a nice breakfast buffet. The rooms can be quite small. Wired internet access is excruciatingly slow. Amenities are minimal. Lighting in the room was insufficiently bright to work at night. There is little differentiation between "smoking" and "non-smoking" rooms - they are mixed on the same floors, so smoke can and does migrate readily to the non-smoking rooms. Walls are thin; a loud snoring guest can be easily heard in the next room. Parking is a half-block away from the hotel, across a busy street. There is literally no place in front of the entrance where one can pull up a car and unload luggage or passengers. No fitness facility. However the Silfor is very reasonably priced. The staff are pleasant although not all speak English. For a night, it is okay. For a longer stay, or a desire to be closer in the old town, I recommend the Radisson.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the back may be quieter.

“Bland but comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2011

The Silfor Premium is bland in style and could be anywhere, however, we had a comfortable double room with enough storage space and a large bathroom. The room had air con, a flat screen TV (only 3 English language channels, all news based), one curtain at the window and two single quilts on the bed! The breakfast had the widest choice I have ever had with hot meats & scrambled eggs, different breads, cheeses, cold meats, eggs, salad, tomatoes, pickled peppers & cucumbers, fresh fruit & yoghurt. There was also fruit juices, tea, coffee & hot or cold water. The hotel was a 15 minute walk from the city centre, there are trams but at the time we went there was major road and construction works going on, so I'm not sure. Wroclaw itself is a city undergoing renovations on quite a large scale in preparation for the 2012 European Cup and 2016 City of Culture. The main train station is being totally refurbished, so the main entrance is on the other side of the tracks - check your maps! There are also many places where road works affect the tram routes and bus stops. If you travel to Wroclaw in the summer beware the biting insects, take anti histamine tablets and cream and cover up or make sure you sit in a breeze! Fewer people in Wroclaw speak English including some of the hotel reception staff, however, there is a very helpful Tourist Information centre in the main square who can help with most things.

Room Tip: When the trams are running the rooms at the front could be noisy

“It's OK. Great Value.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2011

I stayed at Europejski for an overnight stay. What surprised me that I was supposed to pay on spot, unlike all my previous experience with hotels.com where I had made the booking. Anyway, the staff was very helpful and friendly, I certainly wish to stress that. The room was nice, sufficiently clean, the bed was comfortable enough. The only thing that bothered me a bit were extremely thin walls. Unless you're tired, you might have problems with noise.... And the lack of wi-fi internet. That means no internet for those of us who carry around modern portable devices like pads etc. instead of full laptops. I could survive a day offline but others might not.
I didn't have breakfast there so I can't comment on that. The hotel is located quite close to the main station (which is in the process of reconstruction) and fairly close to the city center, perhaps 20 min walking distance. There's a shopping mall perhaps 5 min away and a few pubs/pizza places along the railway track (2 min away), not the high end but good enough for a beer or two.
The Europejski hotel was great for the price I paid and I would stay there again unless I wanted something fancy.

“Good Standard standard of accommodation in a central location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2011

Having read a number of negative reviews I wasn't sure what to expect from this hotel, We booked a twin room for 3 nights and were happy with the standard of accommodation for the price paid.
When we arrived the receptionist was friendly and spoke English so we were able to check in quickly.
Location was great, it was less than a 10 minute walk to the bus stop (the 406 bus takes you directly to the airport) To the town centre it was about a 15 minute walk.
The room was a good size and spotless, comfortable beds, it was a little noisy outside as the hotel sits on the main road where the trams regularly run. Large clean bathroom with a good shower. The room was nice and warm, we had no problems with the temperature.
Downsides were that there was no kettle or tea coffee making facilities in the room, personally for me this was a minus as if you wanted a hot drink in the evening, you could only get one by going down to the hotel restaurant (and there are no coffee shops in the near vicinity) however, 2 Bottles of mineral water were provided each day.
Also, there was no 'book' with hotel information/local area information maps etc, just a hotel menu.
We paid 25 Zt for breakfast, for Poland prices this was dear but I understand that in general hotels to tend to charge inflated prices. There was a varied selection of some hot items and polish food which was all fresh and tasty and is from 6-30-10.00.
