The Hetman is an average hotel that's very hard to find if you don't have a taxi driver or a GPS, but it's only five minutes driving from the old market square that marks the centrum so it's conveniently located. Rzeszow is a university town, so there are many coffee shops and not many good restaurants or hotels. The Hetman is a typical example - the rooms are reasonably priced and because it's located down a laneway off a main road, there's no traffic noise. However, there might be a wedding going on which will be a noisy affair and if you're at the Hetman on a weekend, you'll almost certainly find an amateur sporting group staying there. This means that breakfast may offer slim pickings if you like sleeping in. However, it's unlikely you'll sleep in - this is not a hotel for the romantically inclined and only offers single beds with the strangest dimensions I've ever seen - they are about 60cm wide and almost 3 meters long. I suspect the management must have got a deal from a YMCA basketball team supplier and the hotel doesn't want to put them together in case you want to hang out with a friend. The biggest issue I have with the Hetman apart from the mattresses (I've stayed there quite a few times, so it can't be too bad) is that they're overly cheap with the power supply. The long corridors to the bedrooms on each floor are dark at night and rely on motion sensors to switch on the lights. This doesn't always work and you can be stumbling around in the dark for an eternity trying to read the room numbers on the doors - which are painted on so you can't even attempt a Braille reading. The staff are friendly but uninterested in tales of darkness and have never attempted to change a light bulb in the times I've been there. (Hint - room 116 is in a dark spot, if you're looking to lurk and surprise other guests who are also searching for their rooms). In fact the staff are friendly until you mention that something may not be perfect, in which case they act surprised and tend to blame the guest for the problem. (Did you run up and down the corridor waving your arms at the sensors? - No ? Oh well of course they won't work unless you do that...) Parking is included, internet is included and breakfast is included so it's a pretty good deal if only you can find your room in the dark !
