“New Year Trip”

We arrived early from the airport, and were warmly greeted by the reception staff. Our room was ready and warm, clean and comfortable, a lovely way to start our break. The hotel is in a small square in the Jewish quarter, charming and interesting, fantastic architecture everywhere a 15 minute walk to the main square, shops, markets a Castle.
We arranged to have the breakfast buffet, as it was not included in the hotel booking. There was excellent choice, with hot breakfast to order. Coffee machine and I struggled but ok.
The hotel bar was an ideal stop off after a hard days walking, shopping and being a visitor.
We did attend the New Years eve dinner with a Russian occupation theme. As the only UK couple there is was interesting, being with large groups of Russians, leaving early to attend the Fireworks at midnight in the main Square.
Leaving early the next day the hotel staff arranged a fantastic breakfast box. We heartily recommend this hotel, staff, area and city. Excellent value.

“Character, Charm and Warm Hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

Two couples and a single traveled to Krakow for a long weekend and opted for the Hotel Rubenstein. We couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. This small boutique hotel is located in the heart of Kazimierz - a really nice area for wandering around on the cobblestone streets but a bit of a distance away from the Stare Miasto.

Both of the couples were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded into absolutely stunning, spacious suites with loads of character. Big, comfy beds, high-quality linens, nice upholstered furniture, beautiful marble bathroom with some very special lighting and big windows overlooking the cobblestone street in the Kazimierz area. We were duly impressed! The breakfast in the morning is not your typical hotel breakfast - the Rubenstein offers a real feast - big selection of hot and cold foods - buffet for the cold items and cooked to order eggs and sausages.

We found the staff at the Rubenstein to be extremely friendly and helpful and everyone who we spoke with provided directions and recommendations in excellent English.

We would wholeheartedly recommend anyone looking for a really nice place to stay in Kazimierz to check out the Rubenstein!

“loved it and we are going back with family.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2011

We stayed at the Hotel Rubenstein at Easter. The hotel is charming, the staff were lovely and very polite, everywhere was spotless. The breakfast was lovely, infact I cannot say anything bad about it. The jewish quarter is charming, and like some other review said, it was about 20 minutes walk down some dodgy streets into the main town, well that is certainly not true, yes it may be 20 minute walk but the streets were definitely not dodgy, the main road is well lit and busy with trams and traffic, and this takes you straight into the town, dont know were these people were walking!!! I recommended this hotel to work colleagues and they too loved it, and that is why we are going back next year with family.

“Wonderful Hotel - Wonderful Staff -”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2011

The staff at a hotel is probably one of the most important things to me when I travel and the staff at Hotel Rubenstein is a great example of great customer service.
One example: We had an early morning flight, and the staff rang us the night before to see if we would like a boxed breakfast prepared since the restaurant would not be open. Proactive and kind. When we were able to enjoy the morning buffet breakfast, we were quite impressed. This had to be one of the best "free" buffet breakfasts I have ever had. Not only were you able to choose from a variety of fresh meats, cheese, breads, fruits, cereals, Salmon, yogurt, but there was also a hot menu were you could have an omelette, pancakes, etc. made to order.
This hotel was in the Jewish quarter. Krakow is small, so we easily walked to all of the major tour sites located within the city. Buses picked you up nearby if you chose to visit one of the sites out of the city. The rooms were clean, although sometimes there was a smell coming from the bathroom that I think must be something "in the pipes" because they had an industrial air freshener in there. My guess this that the water is very sulfuric or the pipes are very old. But this was only a minor distraction and did not take away from the trip one bit.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking within this hotel class.

“a beautiful hotel and first class staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 March 2011

Have just arrived home from a 3 night stay at this lovely hotel with 3 friends.Could not fault the hotel or staff in any way ,in fact the staff went out of their way to assist us and offer excellent advice and service. The rooms were beautiful and the breakfast exceptional. The square it is situated on was a pleasant area in the old Jewish quarter, with restaurants and bars to sit outside at night and although quiet at this time of year we were blessed with warm sunny weather and mild nights(it is usually -10).
We were recommended a polish restaurant/cafe where the locals go to eat called Polowskys ,turn right from hotel, then left ,the food tasted lovely,it was very clean place and 4 meals and a small bottle of wine each, total cost £25 in all!!!
We made our own way to the Salt mines on the train ,cheap and easy to get to rather than an organised tour,3 zloty each way per person, but on the other hand we went by train to Auchwitz big mistake!! took 1 hour 50 mins and still had to find a bus to the camp, went back on a minibus cost less, took less time and lovely scenery.Pick up the minibus from Krakow bus station to Auchwitz for 10 zloty much pleasanter and easier.
Great city to visit with some good sightseeing, hope this review is helpful to you.
