“Great value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2011

We found this on Bookings.com with an unbelievable offer. All we needed was one night to rest our heads, this was perfect!
A short walk from the station, and close to all sights, restaurants, bars etc.
Helpful staff who spoke good English (and German), basic, clean rooms with tea, coffee etc.
I would recommend this without hesitation.
I would also recommend eating at a traditional Polish restaurant called Chata (Plac Holdu Pruskiego 8) Our meal was utterly fantastic and the staff there were very friendly as well. Don't be put off by the front entrance......little lady waiting to take your coats and no sign of tables !!!....it's all downstairs. They have a web site where you can get a taste of what they do. Great value for money all round.

“Good standard, central location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2010

Not luxury but good value with attentive staff. It has nice location and fairly central - in the midway between the main railway station of Szczecin and city centre shopping. The room was standard, but clean, comfortable and had everything I needed for short term stay (maybe except the hairdryer). Linens provided and towels are changed daily. Free mineral water in the room. Wi-Fi is free and work fast. Most everything at breakfast was quite good, including the service as well as the food, however, it's a little overpriced. There is a possibility to use garage parking space for extra fee (25 zl per day). All in all a good standard in this category.

“Modern, clean and great value for city centre.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 May 2010

Great place for the price. Very professionally run with modern and very clean rooms & facilities.

Location is also very close to the main train station and opposite the main cathedral in the city who's steeple is always visible on the city skyline so easy to find your way back when walking or driving.

Restaurant and bar is nothing to write home about and breakfast is a little expensive so eat elsewhere.

Parking available under the hotel but I was lucky to just park on the pavement outside the hotel where taxis usually stand. This was allowed so I saved a bit on parking charges.

Would definitely return and recommend highly to others.

“Basic and cheap, not of the best quality..”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 February 2009

Stayed in this hotel for two nights in Feb'2009. It was my choice mostly because of the price and location- 55euro for 2 nights, based in city center. Room I got was basic; double comfortable bed, desk, complimentary tea, coffee. Bathroom with a tub + shower, curtains dirty, so as tiles next to the bath, shower's head rusty. Generally I had a feeling that it's not to hygienic...I could hear every world that person next door was saying. On other hand staff members very pleasant, great location, and overall I suppose quality you can expect from a 2-star chain hotel.
You can request a hairdryer or iron in the reception.
Would recommend only for people that need something cheap, for short stay, definitely not for a romantic weekend.

“Cheap as chips but very basic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2008

FIrst the positives. A four night stay worked out at c. £31 a night which is unbeatable in Europe I would imagine. The hotel was located centrally, right next to the main Cathedral and not far from the main station. Other than that, this hotel was decidedly average. Room and fittings were decidedly grubby looking, although the building itself looked reasonably modern. Bath was almost worn through, disgusting looking, shower fed off bath taps, a bit old fashioned and unpredictable. The shower curtain was filthy and the toileteries were of the fixed variety. To be fair, we did have daily maid service and they changed towels/squared the place up etc. No hair dryer, ironing board and a lack of powerpoints. Tiny telly, very few foreign language channels (none in English), air conditioning didn't seem to have any off switch. No milk for tea/coffee (disgusting whitener supplied!)

I'm not trying to paint this place as a dump, the bedding was clean and relatively comfortable and the shower/toilet worked which is basically all you need for a travelling base. I certainly wouldn't complain at the price and it has no pretensions (2 star rating marked on door) but it is relatively spartan even for a budget hotel and there are other options, even if you want a chain hotel. (Accor group have Ibis and Novotel hotels in the same street not far away.)

To summarise, if cash is your main consideration, you will not find a cheaper chain hotel in Szcecin. If you are fussy, look elsewhere! (And take a star of my review!)

Also, be warned Szczecin is not very touristy, English is hardly spoken at all, which is especially a problem for transport, less so with restaurants, where the waiters tend to be younger and have the basics.
