“Good hotel, 10 minutes bus ride into centre of Gdansk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2010

Our room was smart and clean, and the reception staff were welcoming and friendly - we arrived from a flight from London at about 2am and someone had waited for us to meet us and give us our key. The breakfast buffet was delicious and there was a lot of choice. Really super. Hotel Angela was about 20-30 mins walk into the centre (a great way to explore the area!) but it was also really easy to catch a bus outside the hotel into the centre. A great little find, and would stay again.

“good but can be noisy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 April 2010

i stayed here for1 night.it was a lovely room....comfortableand very well appointed .its spotlessly clean and the breakfast was excellent. the only prob i had was with the room location....if i had been there another night i would have asked to have been moved. avoid rooms 101 102 1nd 103 if you want a quiet room.they are far too close to the reception area and the soundproofing isnt good.consequently tou can always hear the phone ringing receptionist talking...cleaners congragating etc. it does go quieter after 11pm when the reception closes...but even then you can get disturbed by the security man going in and out.other than this its a lovely place...and i would go again but not in those rooms.

“Nice Hotel close to the City Center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 March 2010

Me and my wife spent 2 nights in Villa Angela in March 2010. We reserved the room based on the reviews read on tripadvisor. We traveled by car and could find it easily ( thanks to Uncle Moha, the male voice of the GPS :-) ). We arrived at almost 11pm and the lady at the reception was very kind and showed us our room in the front building on the top floor. It seemed to be too noisy ( the distance of the window was only about 3m from the street ) and too bright ( there was not enough curtain ). When I asked about other rooms she offered two options: another standard room next to the first one, and one deluxe room in the main building. Since this one was bigger, far from the street and better furnished we chose this for an extra 8 EUR/night. The room was clean, comfortable and warm. We liked the interior design of the room. The breakfast was also very good. The staff was also nice and helpful, so we cannot do anything but recommend it to anybody who wants to get real value for the money.

“Quite simply outstanding!”

I had a 3 night stay in Villa Angela, in February, with my 86 year old, but active, Mother. From the first email I sent them to the day we left their service, courtesy and efficiency was superb. We arrived in the early hours of the morning, in a bad snow storm, but there was someone ready to open the door and see us to our room on the ground floor and make sure all was fine. I have read in the other TripAdvisor reviews that the ground floor rooms were noisy. The first morning they asked if the room was OK and said that they had put us there because of not knowing Mum's mobility!. And it WAS OK. More than! Gleaming, VERY warm and just perfect. The 'special' February rate of about £17.00 per person, per night, WITH breakfast was unbelievable!

Breakfast, downstairs, was large and splendid. The 12 hour complimentary tea/coffee/water/biscuits system in the breakfast room was a lovely and welcome idea. As other reviewers have said the bus stops outside could not have been nearer, and once you had got used to their routes and being crushed like a sardine at busy times, they were quick and easy. We used the supermarket once and it was just like Lidl in UK!

In the three days we saw (on foot) ALL of beautiful Gdansk, and, even though it was well below freezing most of the time, every coffee shop, restaurant,, bar, we went to was amazingly warm and cosy. Everyone made us feel so welcome and were keen to know why we had come, and what we thought of , their city! Answering this was not difficult.

Perhaps now you can understand why I wrote the three word title to this review. I will be back. Definately!
