I arrived Sunday 9 August around 19.30 . I had booked by mail and had received confirmation from the hotel . It would have been my 5th stay in this (former) very nice hotel...it was closed! I had not been given any notice of it neither per mail nor phone!! apparently the hotel was closed on the 24th of june, the last mail they wrote me was on the 19th of june reading they looked forward to seeing me again....so do I now...
I found myself in the street with my luggage in front of a closed door with no alternative...I travel a lot for business and thought I had seen everything...life is full of surprises...

I'm siting right now in this hotel to wait when my bank confirm that hotel return the money for the stay from 22.06.2009 to 27.06.2009 becouse all the guests was removed by force from this hotel because it have some "technical problems". Only with police me and my wife get to the hotel reception to disscusse the issue and get money back for the time that we did not stay. I recommend evrybody to think twice before to go to Prague Czech Republic becouse you can't be sure that it does not happen again and you will be on the street with your bage even if you pay for tha stay in hotel. Also they charge you credit card with out you authorization and your signature.

We booked a two night stay at the floor hotel. My cousin recommended it for the central location. We would definitely go back.

We stayed in Room 401 and it was HUGE.. The only strange thing about it was that it only had skylights and not windows. I am not one for staring out of hotel windows so was not bothered. There was natural light and fresh air and we were happy.

What we loved
large room with spa bath and great shower
value for money - we got a last minute deal including breakfast GREAT !!
Breakfast - Even though it was just a standard buffet it felt like a cut above the rest. Smoked salmon on the buffet was a touch of luxury in my eyes.

What we didn't like

Service was a little lack lustre - but this seemed to a Czech thing it was not isolated to the hotel
Cleaner completely missed cleaning away our used tea cups.. So no tea on the second day.
No English Tea in the room nor milk or milk powder for the tea. Small thing but really important to my husband who LOVES a cup of tea.
Strange smell that came and went.
The restuarant on the Ground floor attached to the hotel served a lunch menu steak thing that was expensive and tough as old boots!

On the whole delighted.. and all our complaints are minor and would recommend this to anyone. !!

Not to cheap, but that's the price for dead centre of the city. Great looking rooms, great looking hotel. Nice breakfast.
I've got nothing negative to say about this hotel.
The BBQ-restaurant on the first floor is great! Expencive for Prague, but great!
