On first glance this hotel is gorgeous, perfect location a short walk to the old town and friendly staff. We stayed in a family room which consisted of two bedrooms and a small kitchen. The beds were also really comfortable, however that evening there were people having a party in the some of the surrounding rooms and the corridor was really ecoy and the doors really slam. I bearly slept which was a real downer. Maybe we were just unlucky!

Residence Bologna I wouldn’t recommend staying in this hotel. We stayed here for 3 days in august. We initially booked it due to its location, ok reviews and because it included breakfast. The first red flag was when we arrived, the lobby was full of people wanting to check in but obviously could not due to check in being at 12 and the 2 female reception staff were handing out the luggage room key to anyone there to go and open the luggage room (which already had lots of suitcases in) to put theirs in. Surely the whole point is to keep luggage secure, not hand it out to anyone off the street (at this point they didn’t even ask us or any of the other people we saw for ID, names, or confirmation we actually had a booking there). Later on, the following day, a member male of staff denied they do this at the Bologna but they did - they handed the key out numerous times while we were sat there the day prior. When we were able to check in after 2 pm, we went up the room to see it and a few seconds later a staff member came up to ask if we wanted a twin room with 2 single beds - we confirmed that this was we booked. She then apologised and asked us to wait a second while the separated the beds. This made it feel like they were very unorganised. The hotel is very outdated itself, as are the rooms. The room was also very dusty - even when housekeeping did come they didn’t do anything beyond folding our duvets and putting new towels. The plug sockets are inconveniently placed in the room (all 6 were behind the door, none by your bedside or any where else). The bathroom was a little better but we were only able to have 1 hot shower the whole time we were there. The rest of the days the water was too cold. The room we stayed in did not have proper curtains to block out sunlight - see attached photo. All it had was blinds over the windows but lots of gaps from where the sun would seep through. They really do need to invest to fix this issue although I am not sure if it is the same in all rooms. Breakfast was okay, the hot drink station was great but most mornings flies would be around the food which was off putting and there was a weird smell - smelled like sewage or dirty drains most mornings when we left our rooms To go to the landing/escalator. The only positive was the location - great access to old town and the squares. If you can avoid hotel Bologna, I would recommend you find somewhere else as it is really only okay for 1 night or 2, anymore and you will struggle.

Just returned from our 20th visit to Residence Bologna. We started visiting Prague in 2008 and have seen lots and lots of renovations and improvements to Residence Bologna. Simply, we love it. The staff are excellent, the breakfasts have improved immensely, the restaurant downstairs is good and convenient after a busy day in Prague. Location is excellent . What more can we say? Other than , hope to be with you in October. Many thanks. Take care all of you.

We stayed here as a family for three nights for a pre-Christmas trip to Prague. The hotel is a little dated, but it was clean and very comfortable. The room was spacious, the breakfast was nice and the staff were very helpful. The location was superb - we could walk to the Charles Bridge in less than ten minutes.

We made a booking 7 months in advance to stay at this hotel. Unfortunately the day before travel I was in hospital unexpectedly for an operation. I contacted the hotel and explained my situation. Because I had booked a non refundable stay they were not interested. I did not request a refund, just a voucher so we could stay another date. Very sad that they had no compassion to our situation.

Dear ytt2018, I am truly sorry to hear about your unexpected situation and I sincerely apologize for any distress it may have caused. Our team understands the challenges and we deeply regret that we could not accommodate your request. I would like to kindly inform you that you willingly chose the reservation with non refundable conditions. We offer two types of reservations: 1) Flexible reservation with flexible conditions which is possible to cancel 48 hours prior to arrival 2) Non refundable reservation with special rate, which is not possible to cancel without penalty fee Regrettably, I have to inform you, that in case of cancellation or no show full amount fee applies according to the policy of your non-refundable reservation. Unfortunately we are not able to provide any compensations one day prior to arrival. This is a standard procedure and all guests have the possibility to choose which conditions are more suitable for them. By choosing non-refundable reservation, which was your voluntary risk, you have agreed to respect these terms. We will surely provide you with an invoice and you can ask your travel insurance company to cover the costs associated with the reservation. Thank you very much for your understanding. With kind regards, Ivana / Guest Relations

Very comfortable with very helpful staff including arranging our Airport to and from hotel transfers. We thought this hotel was excellent value for money and conveniently situated for the Old Town. Our only criticisms were that the room was very hot but we turned the radiators down to solve that and at 9am the breakfast area was very chaotic (but had quietened down by about 9:30). Overall a relaxing experience that enhanced our appreciation of Prague as a city.

One of the only hotels available to us after Ryanair cancelled our fight. £250 for the night, the fact that they had vacancies should have rung alarm bells. Surly staff at check in. Just gave a room number and sent us to find it ourselves. Room was dated and the heating wouldn’t go below 25c so very uncomfortable. No bedside table on one side as was up against a wall. The bathroom was modern, clean and functional however, despite the fact that one of the shower risers didn’t work. Dated interior and generally like something from the 80s. Breakfast was included, but the eggs were like rubber and, what I believe was bacon, was so undercooked I swear I heard it grunt. Coffee and juice were ok. Having stayed in many Prague hotels over the years I was not impressed at all. Not much chance of a return visit from us.

I'm 65 years old and somewhat well traveled. I've stayed in a Motel 6 and suites at 5 star hotels costing as much as $1300 a night. My stay for 4 nights at Residence Bologna was the worst I have ever had. The front desk is not very helpful and I had their largest suite. Asked if they could call and schedule a message. Nope, had no idea who to call. Asked for a cab, they ordered one and never gave my name so it shows up and someone else takes it. This was minor incidents. The room AC/Heat was not working. It had an error code. They could not fix it. So for 4 days we had none. The room and furniture were very run down and not clean. While using the bathroom I noticed they had a radiator to hang and warm towels. It was located just 6 or 7 inches from the toilet. I noticed stains on the radiator at the same height as the toilet seat and below. I thought no this can't be.... And yes it was poop stains all over the radiator. I called the desk and asked to have the bathroom cleaned. This was disgusting. We left the room and came back just as they were leaving, 3 cleaning people. The radiator had not been touched. I showed them and they finally went to work on it. They were successful in getting about 90% of the poop off the radiator. The bathroom also had a magnifying mirror attached to the wall. It at some point was pulled out of the wall and remounted leaving a whole in the wall. The furniture in the living room had broken off handles, the balcony had rusted rails. I would not stay there again if they paid me to. I can't understand when I looked at the reviews how many people think this place is ok.

Great location 5 mins walk from Charles Bridge! On arrival staff were very friendly and we were soon checked in. Our room was very spacious, comfortable whilst a little dated but the property has a lot of history about it. To our surprise the room had a little kitchen area with kettle & fridge. The aircon was very welcome in the room as it was 35c each day. Breakfast was included with a wide range of fruit, pastries, breads, cereals, cakes. This really helped set us up for a day of exploring. Would highly recommend and we would return if visiting Prague again, which is a great city with so much to do. The reception staff were always happy to help with questions about what to see, how to get there etc.

Location is very good. It's in the city center and most of the places are nearby. Nearby to the train station. The breakfast is really awesome with many alternatives. The adjacent ground floor restaurant is really awesome. The only dissatisfaction was that we ordered a birthday cake for my wife and expected it to be served as done in the birthday by some hotel crew. But they simply bought it and served in the packet.
