Upon check-in for our five night stay in December, we were given a tiny, claustrophobic room in the new part of the hotel. When asked if we could get a larger room, we were offered one with no hesitation. This room was not as cozy as the ones we had at K & K hotels in other cities, but it was certainly acceptable. Breakfasts were good. Dinner menu, at the bar, seemed varied. We only had one meal - a BLT sandwich which was tasty. Deserts were rather disappointing. In general, staff were pleasant and helpful. Excellent location.
Prague has lovely, charming architecture; tip - look up! The Dancing House is certainly unique. Municipal Building beautiful. Old Town Square also pretty, especially at night with the lights of the Christmas Market. The (extensive) Jewish Museum was worth visiting; note that there are different prices, depending on what you want to see. The Jewish Cemetary, Spanish Synagogue, and Pinkas Synagogue with the childrens' art were all very interesting.
Try the delicious spa wafers, which you can buy in grocery stores and in smaller boxes at convenience stores. Manufaktura shops sell nice soaps. These, along with Prague's crystal bracelets found everywhere, make great stocking stuffers.
Our favourite meal was at the Sphinx Restaurant just around the corner from the hotel. The atmosphere was too 'Americanized' - would prefer a more European feel when dining out, but the food was very good. We had pork neck, advertised on the menu as 'French Steak'; have never seen this on any menu in North America.
Would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Prague.
