U Vlasskeho Dvora Hotel just off the main square was a good choice for Kutna Hora. The three of us received room #2, a large and bright corner room with three windows (sideways view of square from one), table, chairs, and TV - a shower in the bathroom - all very clean and modern (2,000 CZK or about $100 for 3). The lady at the front desk was nice and helpful, and we were given one of the several reserved parking spaces a short distance from the front door.
As in the other Czech hotels we stayed in during our road trip (early March 2009), the included bathroom extras were skimpy - in this case, two small multipurpose soap packs like those used for mustard. Also, as usual, there was very little space around the sink for our own bathroom items. If there were any soap packs left over in a hotel, we always took them along, just in case, for the next place. We used up our surplus here.
Instead of the usual breakfast buffet, U Vlasskeho Dvora provides a menu for the included breakfast - as I recall, and eggs and sausage were on the list. We chose the sliced meats and cheese, and found the quantity just right. In addition, there was a small buffet with the usual cereals, yogurt cups, and juices. This approach seemed very sensible, especially in March when you might find that you're the only guests in the breakfast room as we were.
Since we arrived around lunch time, we had a tasty lunch at reasonable prices in the hotel restaurant. We had our dinner at a place we found by chance, Dačický Restaurant, (about a 5 minute walk from hotel) and judging from a look at their web site after our return home, Dačický appears to me to be a packed, touristy restaurant in the summer. However, on the evening of March 12 there were only a few other guests in the front room, no others in the back where we were, romantic wood fires in the front-room fireplace and back-room stove, and good food, also reasonably priced.
St. Barbara's Cathedral, a magnificent gothic church, is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel, but the ossuary ("bone church") is quite a way off - we drove and found a free parking space right outside (March!).
