After an easy drive from the airport we turned off the highway onto a dirt road, checked our instructions to make sure we hadn't gone wrong!, and a few minutes later we arrived at a charming hacienda. Needless to say the kids were in the pool in minutes. Our hosts Nick & Julia made us feel very welcome and showed us around. The accommodation was to a very high standard and preserves the traditional style building with modern convenience and really peaceful rural setting.

Whilst this was a self-catering holiday the owners were only too happy to help and make our stay as enjoyable as possible so under the circumstances they deserve a generous service rating. This is an ideal spot for families, historic Ronda is only 10 minutes drive and for the adventurous there are numerous local restaurants and places to explore. It was a joy to lie by the pool in peace and read a book. I recommend a trip to the nearby reservoir /Lido on a very hot day. We are planning to return soon and combine with a trip to Granada next time.

May 2009 was our third visit to Finca Retama. We had our son and daughter-in-law, her parents, and our baby grand-daughter with us. Everyone loved it. Lovely place to rest and relax, good and easy walks, Ronda very handy for spectacular views, shopping and restaurants, and lovely White Towns nearby. Granada (for Alhambra), Cordoba (for Mezquita/Mosque), and Seville all easy day-trips by car. This time we stayed in the old farm house, as we did on our first visit with our own daughter, son-in-law and grandson. In between we went in October 2008 with sister and sister-in-law and stayed in Casa Abuela, the new house. Two return trips say it all!

Had a fantastic summer holiday .Place fab,hosts really helpful,friendly and great company.Large pool a huge attraction.Surrounding rural area great for walks.Plenty of things to do and see in and around the area for all the family.Would definitely make a return visit.

We stayed at Casa Abuela house for 8 nights during April: a couple+2 children (5&2.5). The place is great, especially for a family with kids: absolutely safe, kids may run outside and we just enjoyed this great environment. Very reccommended!
