This is a friendly family-run hostal. The son speaks good English. Only 55 euros (I think) for the room and breakfast, and the dinner was only 11-12 euros for three courses plus wine and quite a bit of choice. Very clean, and we didn't need air conditioning when we were there, as it was cool at night, and we didn't care that there was no TV. One thing I did need was some soap. I don't expect shampoo at budget hotels, but I do expect soap. Probably we should have asked. Roses does not have a lot of charm; it's a big city. We were happy to find Hostal Rom, on a residential street, because the other choices seemed to be huge concrete hotels on the beach.
