Stayed here for 7 nights B&Bin Oct 2010. Lovely homely and comfortable hotel, nice twin room with a seaview, lovely breakfasts, great pools and facilities and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Location - easy access to Ayia napa - walking approx 40mins, bus ride about 4-5mins and the bus stop is just outside the back of the hotel and is only 1euro each way. Also we hired a jeep from Semeli carhire company - very nice chap and reasonable prices. Taxi's also available from the hotel.

Beaches - Landa golden beach - a fairly peaceful beach 5mins walk from back of the hotel- easy walking, very flat.
Nissi beach - lovely beach but a lot bigger therefore busier - about 15mins walk from hotel

Transfer from Larnaca airport - 40mins.

Food - we only had breakfast in the hotel but used other restaurants: Vassos fish restaurant at Ayia napa - 4/5, Limelight Ayia napa 3/5, Orange grove on Nissi ave on way into Ayia Napa - 5/5, So Nice Boutique japanese restaurant (opp back of Olympic hotel) - 4/5, Christinos fish restaurant at Ayai napa harbour 3/5.

Telephone - used the phone to ring home in UK from the room phone - extremely cheap about 7pence a minute !!!!!!

Driving - you need your driving licence and passport to hire a vehicle. They drive on the left, same as us, and it is very each to drive around and find your way as everything is signposted in both Greek and English.

Accessibility - the hotel caters for wheelchairs with ramps etc which also makes it suitable for the elderly and anyone who isn't as mobile as other people.

Weddings - It seemed a nice place to have a wedding and there were 2-3 weddings nearly everyday of our stay. To start with it was nice to see but then became the 'norm'. There were different places where they held the reception but one of the places was located in the middle of the pools right next to the childrens pool area which meant kids were jumping and splashing around (as expected) but also splashing the wedding guests during the reception. (i wouldn't have been too pleased if it were me although one wedding had the reception in the same place in the evening which was better as the pool was closed after 7pm)

The only negative comment about the hotel is about the amount of people smoking everywhere around the bars and pool areas (outside) which is fine if you are a smoker but perhaps they should have half the pool area for non-smokers as there was no escape from it unless you wanted to sit inside the hotel :(
The hotel is having a revamp for 2011 and it would be nice to hear that they are thinking of non smokers as well as catering for the smokers.

I honestly couldnt fault this hotel it was so clean and the staff were very friendly and couldnt do enough for you
We stayed there for my sister in laws wedding and it was really good
the meals were all different every night and lunchtime , bbq , chinese, cypriot, medditeranean etc, never seen so much food and what a selection
some say that they could have done to have been a litte bit hotter they certainly were when it was brought out, but to me i think that it would have dried out to quickly
the breakfast is really good they had 3 toasters going so there was no queing for toast and you got a soft fried egg not a hard plastic one, It says locally produced alcohol which at first i thought was a no no for me as i like proper bacardi and vodka but suprisingly enough it was very good even the beer was heineken, carlsberg or san miguel
I would most definetly reccomend this hotel ive just got back today and when i finish this review im booking for next year

We stayed at the Olympic Lagoon for 2 weeks, we got married there on the 29th September 2010 in the sunken wedding garden and it was just like a fairytale wedding. We then had cocktails and champagne in the main bar next to reception and they really made us feel special. Then they partitioned the far side of the restaurant off for our wedding meal as there was 42 of us and it was decorated beautifully, everything was just how we wanted it to be but even better, the food for the wedding meal and the service off the staff was second to none, the head waiter monilos or manos as i called him was just excellent! Our wedding is certainly one to remember. Our 2 weeks holiday there at the Olympic was made even more special by the entertainments team! Jonathon and Anthony and the girls were just fantastic. The shows they put on each evening were brilliant and they work very very hard and it shows too. They made our evening wedding party such a memorable one too. We felt spoilt rotten and really special. Every single person who came with us for our wedding (42 in all) said that this is the best hotel they had ever been to for the entertainment. Also may i mention Sally the wedding co-ordinator, she was so helpfull and really made our wedding day so special and relaxed too, thankyou for that sally! The food at this hotel is just gorgeous, some people state on these trip advisor pages that there is nothin they like to eat or the food isnt much.......well i don't know where these people stayed but it certainly wasnt the olympic Lagoon as the food was just top notch. Something different each night and loads to choose from! Hats off the the chefs!! All the staff especially the bar staff too are so friendly and helpful and can't do enough for you! We got upgraded to the beach club part and this was just idylic, topped our Honeymoon off just perfectly. Back to the entertainment guys.......There is never a dull moment with these lot.....and Anthony Hall has one wonderful voice....get him on the Xfactor instead of all the rubbish that it on now! Thanks again guys.....we will be back for sure, hopefully all 42 of us too !!!Excellent time, Excellent company, Excellent hotel!

We booked on the B&B basis and were glad as it gave us the opportunity to sample the vast choice of restaurants outside of the hotel a short bus ride away. The buses are the best value for money on the island. It costs 1 euro to travel to Protarus (35 mins) and this is well worth going to. Ayia Napa centre is about 8 minutes away on the bus and is also 1 euro. It takes about 45 mins to walk into the centre but is quite safe and well lit.The buses run about every 30 mins so you could always jump on one should you get tired.
OK, back to the hotel, I would rate this hotel as a 3+ it is due for major refurbishments in 2011 and in all of the bedrooms and landings it is well over due.( The Beach Club) rooms across the road have already been done. The breakfast had quite a good variety but the same every day.Our room was a sea view + which the + must have been the lovely palm tree blocking the view. The rooms were small and well worn, I wrote a message in the dust on top of the bed head and it was still there when we left as was all the dust under the television,so as you can imagine although the room looks clean on the initial glance they are not on closer inspection. The costs at this hotel far exceeded most 5* hotels we have usually stayed in. The late checkout prices were extortionate. ie 50 euros until 5.00pm, 60 euros until 6.00pm and a wopping 70 euros!!!! until 7.00pm. We asked them to empty the mini bar fridge and guess what ,because we wanted to use it for water etc it cost 3.80 euros a day. Also to give you an idea a Black Russian and a Gin Fizz 11euros. 2 Lime and lemonades 7euros. It will probably pay you to go all inclusive if you enjoy ale on tap.Just to prove a point they have 2 levels of all inclusive, why not 1 like most other resorts.Oh I guess it is another way of charging again, they are very good at it.The safety deposit boxes are about 3.50 euros per day (less I believe if you are all inclusive). The entertainment is of a fairly good quality every night but if you want an early night forget it until after midnight which is when it finishes and yes, it is loud. As there are quite a few children who get very excited it can be quite noisy around the pool area. If you want a more relaxed holiday during the day go across the road to the left about 50 metres to the other part of the hotel which is the Beach Club (Strictly Adults Only) it has flags outside but no name on display and although small it is relaxing. It also leads straight onto the beach. On the beach you do have to pay for sunbeds and umbrellas 2 euros for each of them.Overall if this hotel upgraded everything and cut its extra charges it has the makings of quite a good place to go. If you want to go on trips then hire a car as we did and do it yourself it will be well worth it to you.The weather was very good just a couple of overcast periods and 1 rainy day but it was starting to cool a little as we were there for 11 nights.

After a fantastic flight and taxi transfer with First Chice, our first impressions of the hotel were really positive. We had a porter take our bags up into a room that was fine, we already knew we did not overlook the pool but had a major road outside (but with the doors shut you couldn't hear a thing), aircon very good. We decided to go bed and breakfast rather than all-inclusive or half board. We found a lovey bar/rest we think called the Tavern, nearly next door, which did fantastic food and great company.
There were loads of sunbeds which were important to us, soft cushions on them and we could buy food and drink on site. The hotel had a bus stop outside so a trip to Ayanapa only took 10 mins. All we wanted was a quiet holiday, laying by the pool, relaxing, watching a little entertainment in the evening(which was good) and eating good food.
It would have been one of the only places we would return to, however, the hotel is being revamped from Oct to May 2011 and Thomas Cook are opening it up as all inclusive only, thats why First Choice is pulling out. So sad cause we loved it
