“Fantastic place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

My three kids and I stayed at South Pacific for 5 nights in January, 2012. We arrived late Sunday night and were easily able to access our room using directions given earlier over phone from reception staff. The apartment was very spacious and has everything you would need. We stayed in unit 22 and were very happy with it. The en suite had very recently been refubished ; you could tell because the tile grout was sparkling! The main bathroom had also been redone and it too was very clean. The kitchen had a brand new dishwasher.
The main bedroom was huge and the second bedroom comfortably fit 2 single beds without being at all crowded. This is the only resort I have ever stayed in that had more coat hangers than you actually need, rather than the usual pitiful two or three. One thing to note, the windows are actually louvres, not glass so you do hear a bit of noise from other units and the fantastic music from the restaurant on Thursday night but this was great to listen to! Our unit was directly overlooking the pool so noise may not apply to units further in the back.
The apartments all have big balconies and we sat out there reading and watching the birds that were sheltering from the downpour.
The staff were very helpful and the courtesy bus was excellent. We were able to get a lift into Hastings St or Noosa Junction at 2 or 3 certain times a day.
The only thing I would recommend would be that a room compendium be added to each room. I believe this is being done at present. The resort has been bought from Break Free so I'm sure the stationery etc needs to be re-branded with new letterheads etc.
One final thing, the resort was being fited with Wi-Fi on the day we left.

Room Tip: Pool view is lovely but if you want quiet then maybe ask for a unit further away from the restaurant...

Dear Carol,

Thank you for your great review, we pride ourselves in the service we provide and thank you again for pointing out all our fantastic facilities.

We have since placed all the new compendiums in the rooms and the music in the restaurant was a special event tribal drums night put on by the resort. The courtesy bus now runs 4 times a day, picking up and dropping guests at Hastings street and the Noosa Junction.

Sounds as though you and your children had a great stay and we look forward to your next holiday.

Kind regards,

“Tranquil Paradise”

The gardens and pool areas are just beautiful, well maintained and a pleasure to spend time in. The layout of the resort is lovely, spacious and very private, the room was recently renovated and with very tasteful decor and fixtures, just wish we had longer to stay there it was too short. The location is a bit out the way of noosa's main attractions but was not a problem for us as we had our bicycles with us and just rode everywhere, great walking and bike tracks all around this area.

Room Tip: second and third floors have quite a few stairs, no lifts

Dear Sneaky 76

Thank you for the great review and pics. Just a quick note for next time you visit, our courtesy bus now runs to the major shopping district 4 times a day and we also now have bike hire available at reception.

It does sound like you were very well prepared and we love to hear of our guests stays, now long holidays are hard to organise so I suggest you book in lots of little ones :)

Happy holidaying,

It was time for a holiday after working for many months non-stop in Sydney and this place was the nirvana we were looking for!
My husband and I stayed in one of the modern-renovated rooms which was tastefully decorated with new furniture and and had high ceilings. Sure we had some stairs to climb but as it was on the top floor, we had privacy and views across the whole resort.
We had a private spa in our bathroom and a rear terrace overlooking the natural park behind the resort. Very clean and tidy, bright and breezy!
We found the reception staff to be pleasant and warm, giving us directions to our daily destinations and suggesting places to go and see.
I hadn't been to the beauty salon within the complex though my friend was given a gift voucher and was impressed by the standard of her manicure and the interior of their salon.
I have seen some reviews here which explain a rather different experience. Looking at the photos submitted, I guess there is a great difference in standard between the interiors of each apartment. I can only recommend if you book there to ask for a renovated room because the resort environment is sublime and the perfect place to relax!

Room Tip: I can only recommend if you book there to ask for a renovated room on an upper floor with the high c...

Dear LGabriel,

What a lovely relaxing stay you had, even I drifted of reading your review and i live here. We have a number of dedicated gardeners tending the grounds constantly. Yes all our rooms are unique in their own way, and all our owners take allot of pride in the up keep of their units with majority undergoing renovations in the last few months.

I have passed on your review to Anna and her team in the day spa, we are very fortunate to have such a great team and passionate business owner in the Spa.

Thank you again for your fantastic review and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

“Pretty good”

We have just returned having stayed 2 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment. The room was nice and spacious with 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, laundry and large balcony. Our room was located overlooking one of the pools on the first floor so was really nice.

The carpark for our unit was really difficult to get into and having a toddler and baby we couldn't get into one side of the car without first getting the car out of the carpark. Also having booked two rooms together, it would have been nice to have the rooms located close by, but it was a busy period.

All in all a good stay, but possibly overpriced when staying for a short stay and you don't use all the amenities of the unit/resort as much.

Location is ok, but you need to drive to the beach or river, but could be a nice bike ride if you have bikes.

Room Tip: Overlooking a pool is nice. There are lots of stairs to majority of rooms, so if you have mobility...

Thank you for your review,

We apologize for the slight inconveniences you experienced and hope the next time you stay we can be more accommodating with your requests. We now have bikes and courtesy coach running frequently so no need to fight for car parking. Also we have reviewed all our accommodation rates since the handover from Breakfree and feel that we are very competitive.

Thank you again for your review and we look forward to welcoming you back.

“great setting a pity about the staff and cleaning”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

loved the setting of the two pool both with spas plus third one and was very relaxing and tropical and i found it very quite. but not a lot nearby. thou there's a few cafes up the rd and an Aldi that you can drive to. The lockout of pool at 8pm in summer is disappointing, security comes and gets everyone out of pool and locks it. i think security would be better used to keep noise down and have pool open longer and stop the people with wine glasses by the pool and smoking. On arrival young lady at counter was nice but older manager was cranky and i guess snobby and also didn't seem to like children. i avoided her as was unhelpful and made me feel like crap. the younger lady was nice and friendly. Rooms/ flats are cabin like and feel beach like, i liked them, thou some things did need updating but not worth complaining about for the beautiful feel of the place and nice large veranda off all of them. fairly large and spacious too. full kitchen, bathroom with old shower spa and washing machine and dryer in bathrooms, large open lounge room. bed was hard in both rooms and hurt my back. the staff leave you alone so rather nice if you can stay away from the cranky one.we booked 3 nights and ended up staying a further 2 or 3 but they made us move and we had a 2 year old it took us ages to pack and unpack again as they then moved us up a 2 or 3 flights of stairs from a ground flat to top floor one and this was hard work with my 2 year old and not suitable with her and was disappointing, they told us we had to be moved as room was booked for next 3 nights that we wanted but it was used for only one night and then empty the couple would have been better staying one night in the room upstairs we were moved to for 3 nights. seemed unfair and thoughtless as we even said the stairs were not good with a 2 year old. but again was the cranky lady at it again. so i really think they prefer single couples there not families as they were not understanding or caring for children also when moving us we had to wait for them to have a room ready and before we could move out the cleaners come in and started cleaning the room we were leaving, They were slack with not changing the sheets as we watched the cleaners pull the used sheets back up and tuck them in and put cover back on. now that is just wrong!!!! we tool sheet off bed in new room and washed them and put in the dryer . there is a lot of permanent residents at this place and only 2 BBQ thou to the whole place and are right up the front near courts and no seating and long walk with BBQ stuff from rooms, need more around the place. restaurant seemed very limited with menu and we didn't use it and noticed not many people did. over all it was a nice relaxing place just certain staff ruined the experience of the nice atmosphere, loved the pools but don't think they like kids

Room Tip: dont get a room near the bins at entrance very noisey

Dear reviewer,

Thank you for your patience waiting for a response to your review. We have had a lot of difficulty gaining access to our manager section since the Trip adviser update.

We did feel as though this was a bogus review as the exact same review appeared on another competitor site however I would like to respond on behalf of our team.

The swimming pools are locked at 9pm to ensure all guests have am uninterrupted stay and also in line with the building bi-laws. 8pm would be far too early however 9pm I believe is fair time.

Housekeeping were horrified to hear of the accusation regarding the bed linen and as I only have two housekeepers your review was handed over directly with a stern warning that this kind of short cut would never be tolerated.

We have had a fresh new recruitment to our team structure and can assure you that customer service is top priority. Our team are very professional, friendly and attentive to all our guest needs. We have also extended reception ours and the courtesy bus time table to ensure we achieve high customer satisfaction reviews.

Since your review we have had a body corporate meeting and all our pool furniture has been replaced with new day beds, sun lounges and tables and chairs we also have a new BBQ placed at the middle swimming pool.

We pride ourselves on being a family resort with large apartments, table tennis and tennis courts, 4 swimming pools and activities for kids, we also have in the plans a kids playground to be erected sometime in the future.

I deeply apologise on behalf of the team here and believe that since reading your review we have implemented allot of change and improvements to our resort and team.

Thank you again for taking the time to write a review and we hope that you will return to give us a second chance.

Kind regards,
