“Quite a nice place, nice refurbed room, would stay there again. We hear it's the best in town.”
Sometimes motels in country places can be a bit 70s and a bit run down. Well not this place - it certainly looks like its been through a recent refurbishment. It's an oldeer style place - but the bed and bed clothes are new, and very comfortable, so is the carpet, big LCD TV with Foxtel, a bar fridge. No complaints about any of that. Plenty of parking out front of course, classic motel style.
The location is pretty good, walking (or staggering) distance to the Seymour Club, but it's not really in the heart of town, more on the way out of town.
The staff are very good and friendly - they provide some nice touches in the rooms that are over and above what you would expect. The swimming pool lokked inviting, but it was a little cold this time of year.
There is wireless internet for the bargain rate of $5 a day, or $15 for 5 days (you have to get a userid and password from the front desk). For a country location it's pretty fast, although the signal down at the end rooms is terrible, could do with a repeater station down there.
There is room service breakfast, but we didn't partake in that.
There is even an ancient Bassett hound for your amusement !
