What a lovely surprise!
This place was so good we went there two nights in a row!
I would like to thank the chef for the wonderful flavours that really do bring a bit of Greece to Port Campbell. Efharisto poli!
The restaurant was very busy as we were there for the Australia Day long weekend, so the staff were trying as hard as they could to accommodate everyone and get meals out, I think it was a job well done considering the crowds.
To the food:
Although there were a few main courses on the menu that were going out to other tables especially the steak which seemed very popular, we decided on both nights to eat in a more Greek fashion and ordered from the mezze menu.
We found all the dishes to be fantastic except for the octopus - I was sceptical about ordering this as I thoguht were are they gonna get it to do it right, but my husband wanted to go for it - it was the boiled octopus that they then grill - its nice enough but not the flavour I was going for. Other than that here are some highlights -
The kefalogaviera saganaki - is outstanding. its one of the best ive had.
The calamari is excellent.
The whitebait is also excellent.
The Greek salad - although "loosely" Greek because of the rocket addition is actually a stunning salad. The feta cheese they use in it is of very good quality, so are the excellent Kalamata olives.
The loukaniko (sausage) is excellent but might be a little spicy for some people.
This place is so good I would seriously think about visiting Port Campbell on a weekend just to eat there and its 2hrs and 45 mins from my house!
