Upon my late arrival I was greeted with a friendly manner from both the male and female managers/owners. As an independent traveler it's always nice to feel looked after as despite loving traveling on my own, it can sometimes be a bit daunting arriving at a new place. I was shown the facilities and assured if I needed any help it was there.

The place is kept very clean and tidy and amongst the nature and wildlife this hostel is in a pretty great location. I would definitely come back here and bring friends - if not for the warm reception and hospitality then for the fact that they remembered my name, which I find says a lot about people.

On arrival the reception was unattended and we had to call a telephone number for someone to come to us. This was fine although the first call was unaswered but we only waited about 10minutes.

Rob was very friendly and helpful, even providing some first aid assistence.

The room was basic but clean and contained one double bed, a sink, bedside table, clothes rack and heater. Unfortunately the heater was complicated to use and got stuck on a random setting resulting in a cold night!!

The kitchen was well equipped although in need of a thorough clean.

Would stay here again for a night ot two if on the Great Ocean Road.

To be fair this gives the impression of a very good hostel, the only reason Ive scoired it down as there are some good value motels in town with a better level of ammenity for hardly any more cash, but nothng wrong with thwe accom here!

ate dinner at the gormet burger for $10 which was great & breakfast at B-bar on the beach - go there and eat the bircher musli, yum
