This is a very pleasant motel, in a good location, nice rooms and reasonablly priced considering its proximity to one of Australia's biggest tourist attractions - the Penguin Parade. The most outstanding feature of this establishment was their warm hospitality.
Like so many others, we came to Phillip Island to see the Penguins and they were fabulous. We arrived at the motel with only about 30 minutes to spare before we had to leave for the parade. It was colder than expected and threatening rain and the motel owner was extremely kind, lending us two big warm jackets with hoods and giving us easy directions to the park.
But it didn't rain, IT POURED. Despite that, the Penguin extravaganza is not to be missed! We couldn't get enough. Consequently when we did return, it was quite late - near 10PM. But it was a Saturday, so the Bistro restaurant was still open. Despite the fact that the kitchen was closed, the chef was still there and he was so kind as to turn the stoves back on and feed us a delicious hot meal. I think they felt sorry for us as we must have looked like something the "cat dragged in" from the rain.
We highly recommend the accomodations and the outstanding hospitality at the Tropicana Motor Inn.
