We got there at 8:30 at night and the attendant told the other people that reception usually closes at 8:00. As we paid we were asked if we wanted the internet (200mb for 5$). We were not informed on the services the motel was providing inclusive or otherwise.

Free coffee was horrible. The room was nice and clean and the bed comfortable. The size of the room was a bit small but very adequate.

The room was too expensive.

Although the new owners have only been there a year, they sure do make you feel welcome. Staff at the best western apollo bay went out of there way to make sure we felt at home, very friendly and full of helpful advice. The rooms were clean and spacious, just what we needed after a beautiful drive down the spectacular great ocean road. The location of this motel could not be better, dead centre in town. Everything was walking distance, a short stroll to the beach a we saw a beautiful sunset. Could not ask for anything better.

My family and I had a very enjobable stay here, the location was exellent, a short walk to beach and a great pub next door. We spent alot of time around the pool which was crystal clear, the grounds were well maintained and neat. Our room (self contained) was ideal with a mondern kitchen, two seprate bedrooms and very comfy beds. The owners were more than helpful when reccommending things to do in the area ,we were always greeted with a smile :-). Will definately be back. Great value for money at such a peak time.

We chose this Best Western because of the location--between the Otway Range and Lorne. It's location was all that really worked for us. The room was clean but the beds were abysmal--low quality, "coily" mattesses with a lot of bounce and motion transfer.

Our rate included internet access (had a printed Best Western confirmation with me). The front desk person disagreed, and said I had to pay extra for internet by the minute. This began a 20 minute argument which ended with a call to the Best Western customer service representative in Australia, who decided the matter in our favor. The whole ordeal left a bad taste in my mouth. Was internet access really so costly to the hotel that he had to fight me to get some extra fees?
Just an FYI, we were there in the "winter" off season, many local establishments were closed for the season.
