We spent three nights here over Christmas. Hosts Peter and Stewart did a great job of making everyone feel special and the small number of rooms meant that for all 13 guests it was an intimate experience.
The public rooms are very comfortable and encourage relaxation over a paper and cup of coffee. You are made to feel like house guests at a country house party.
Our room was beautiful (although a better tea making set-up would be appreciated) and the bathroom exceptional (claw-foot bath in a bathroom the size of a small house!). The bed was comfortable and we had no issues with noise.
Dinners in the luxurious dinning room were delightful. We had a huge Christmas lunch on the 25th which extended well into the afternoon so there was no ususal evening meal that night.
Our biggest disappointment was the area around Deloraine and the town itself which we found rather dull and uninteresting..maybe just because of the Xmas hols?

We stayed for one night at Peppers Calstock. Upon arriving we were greeted warmly by the manager, Stuart. As we were the only guests that night, Stuart advised us that he had upgraded us. During our tour of the property, he upgraded us again! We had the run of the house that evening and were literally the only two people within the property.

We found much of Tasmania to lack any real quality luxury accommodation. Peppers Calstock is an exception.

We also recommend Red the new Italian that has opened in Deloraine. Easily the quality of anything in the mainland capitals.

We had a wonderful stay at Peppers Calstock on our honeymoon. The husband and wife hosts were both wonderful. The food was amazing (the chef even went to the trouble of making us an extra honeymoon handmade chocolate dessert after our proper dessert - we were so full after all that wonderful food I can tell you!). We will always remember our stay as one of the highlights of our honeymoon.

Really enjoyed the outlook, comfort, food and service. Stuart and team were exceptional. Highly recommend
