My husband and I had a very pleasant and enjoyable 4 night stay here. The motel is basic, quiet, and clean with good views on the waterfront of Kingscote. A continental breakfast is good and is included: for an extra fee one can order a fine cooked full breakfast. Tim and Bobby the owners were very helpful both on the phone when we were seeking accommodations and throughout our stay. The motel is within walking distance of the small town of Kingscote, with very nice restaurants, shops, post office, news agency, tourist information -very convenient. It was an excellent location for exploring the island. There is also a place to do laundry and hang out clothes. Wireless internet is available as well. We would stay here again....

We stayed at this hotel for one night on a two day tour of KI. We didn't choose this hotel, it came as part of the tour package we had purchased. You do have a view of the water and is 5 min walk to the jetty and restaurants in Kingscote. There is a "pool" across the road beside the water (consisted of rain/ocean water most likely). But it was pretty cool when we visited so we didn't even think to go swimming in it.

The room was comfortable and home-y, but do not expect modern decor. It looked a bit old fashioned (think 70s/80s) but that doesn't myself or my partner. We had a room with one queen and one single bed. The queen bed was very comfortable and both beds came with an electric blanket which we absolutely LOVED as it kept us warm on the chilly winter's night. Their is a heater in the room, which we had kept on all evening before going to sleep. However it was too noisy to be kept on while sleeping.

While the bathroom was of normal size, it was a bit dingy and the shower looked like it hadn't been given a good scrub in a while. If you are the kind of person who cares about your hair, bring your own shampoo and conditioner as the only thing they supply is a 3-in-1 shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispenser in the shower.

The area was quiet, then again we went during their off season and I think there was only one other guest at the hotel. I'm not sure how it would be in the summer time when I hear all the hotels/motels are sold out every night.

There wasn't a restaurant at the motel, so we had to walk to the Aurora Ozone Hotel to use their restaurant (was only a 5 min walk if that). The dinner was alright, though very much over priced. There are other restaurants in Kingscote which we hear are equally as good and cheaper.

We were given a continental breakfast as part of our tour package. It was in the room when we arrived and consisted of bread (to toast), jams, cereal, milk, and orange juice. Cutlery and plates were also provided in the room along with a kettle and tea.

Overall, a cute motel. If you are expecting high-class modern decor with all the amenities, go somewhere else. But if you want a reasonably priced place to stay with a comfortable, secure feeling, stay here.

We spend a week in this Motel and found it was a great base to explore the Island. There is an excellent washing machine available what we enjoyed a lot. The place is quiet in the night and close to the Kingscote attractions (Pelicans, Pens).

They were very helpful when I made my reservations--helped me arrange 2 days of tours that took me from Adelaide and back. Small motel, typical motel room with everything I needed. Very nice breakfast was included. A short walk to a little aquarium with the most facinating sea life and the fairy penguin tour at night. Just across the street from the inlet and I saw a rainbow in the evening. I'd stay there again.
