We had heard a mix of opinions on Ceduna and our choice of destination. So we were not really sure what to expect. We were open to the experience and were most certainly very pleased with our decision. Shelly Beach Caravan park has everything you might need for a comfortable break away from it all. We stayed in a newly renovated unit, and if the other units are renovated to the same standard it will be excellent. Family members stayed in an older unit which by all accounts had nothing wrong with it at all. We did have all our own linen (incl pillows and blankets) but these can be hired if needed. There is excellent access to a fantastic beach, ideal for a number of activities, including, kite surfing, kayaking, swimming and snorkelling and very good for the little ones, especially at low tide. We had a fantastic time and Brownie and Anna were excellent hosts and offered up there time to speak to us on many occasions and Brownie spent a part of his afternoon showing us how to clean and cook crabs (which was our first ever) and proudly showed me around his property. It is a very special part of the world and we will be back for a repeat visit.
Only suggestion, would be the inclusion of a shaded pool....

Room Tip: The newly renovated unit is highly recommended.

“No linen, means no pillows and no blankets.”

We booked a cabin and were aware that we needed to bring our own linen which wasn't a problem as we brought sheets and towels etc. How surprised were we that no linen meant no pillows and no blankets. The cabin was already expensive compared with other accomodation we booked and if we required pillows and blanket that was another $20 per night. The cabin was very basic, small and out of the town. On the way back we booked a three bedroom house directly opposite the beach in the town centre with linen included for $25 less per night as to the basic cabin without linen.

“Quiet, small and very clean”

We stayed 2 nights at Shelly Beach (powered site) after crossing the Nullarbor Plain. We found this one of the nicest caravan parks. It was only 2 km's from Ceduna, so it was very quiet. The location near the beach is perfect. Ideal to get some rest after crossing the Nullarbor.

The amenities were very clean, and spacious (no bumping to the walls).we really recommend this caravan park, if you want to relax.

“Best Caravan Park in Australia”

We have been making this park a "must" stop for the past 7 years on our trips between WA and the East. Just when you think it can't get any better, it does! The facilities are always clean and well maintained and well placed about the park for ease of access. We particularly like the way the sites are located so that you aren't in regimented rows and on top of each other. The owners sensitivity to the environment is to be commended and is another big draw card for us. The staff are always friendly and helpful and are well educated on what services are available in the town and what to see and do during your stay. We have been travelling in our van for 2 months each year for the past 7 years and stand by our statement that this is the best Caravan Park in Australia!

“What a wonderful place, we'll be back!”

We stayed for 6 days and enjoyed every one of them.
We had a quiet spot with trees separating us for our neighbours. The en suite amenities were clean, spacious and setup with soap, shampoo, face cloth and foot mat - what luxury! We drove to the top of the sand dune of the park to look out over Shelly Beach. We watched the sun go down behind the harbour and there were wind surfers on the water adding more colour to the scene.
We will definitely be back!
