“Fantastic resort that is safe for kids with heaps to do”

We stayed for 7 nights with an 11 and 12 year old boy. The unit was on the second floor and had no sea views, however we did have a view over the tropical garden set with swimming pools and spa baths. We have spent time in many countries in similar units and Mariner shores is one of the better ones. The unit is fully loaded and has everything you can wish for. The boys were not left short of entertainment, with the pools, games rooms, spa baths, tennis courts, put put course..... The bonus is the super patrolled beach across the road and the surf life saving club with good cheap meals. This was our first holiday to the Gold Coast and we fell in love with it. I am sure having a fantastic place to come home to and relax and unwind in made the holiday special. One suggestion would be to issue each family with more of the access cards so that each family member can have one as to go anywhere in the resort you need a swipe card to get through all of the security arrangements. We will be back!

“Fantastic Situation... just getting a bit tired”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2010

We unfortunately received a ground floor unit which had dense vegetation outside which blocked natural light. Even on a sunny day we had to keep the lights on! Main bedroom is small but the en suite bathroom is huge with most of the space taken up by a spa bath that didn't work!

I am sure that the units situated higher up would provide a better experience. The units have been renovated but no thought given to useful positioning of lighting for reading.

The public rooms and reception are looking rather tired which is such a pity as the resort is situated in a wonderful location.

We had a lovely stay, unit was clean and decent size, 2bed and 2 bathrooms, amenities were great. over road from neat Burleigh surf club (has great food) and great beach, supermarket 5 min walk away, lovely walks right outside your door. we loved the fact its away from Surfers Paradise (but easy to catch a bus - right outside of resort). would stay again. what they say they have they do have.

“Everything is good!”

Mariner Shores is in a great location and is close to everything to make your stay a great holiday experience. The rooms have all had a recent refurb and everything you need is there.

It is directly opposite a very good and patrolled surf beach, 100 metres from the North Burleigh SLSC and 300 metres from the Miami hotel. Regular public transport (bus) connecting to all places of interest is within a minutes walk.

Everything here is of 4+ star quality. Pools, spas, mini golf, tennis court, internal furnishings are all very, very good. I would happily stay there again in a heartbeat.

Whilst my roon (Hibiscus 26) did not have ocean views it had a pleasant aspect over the pool. No one could possibly be disappointed with what this resort offers along with it's great location.

  • Liked — Great location, barefoot walks on beach to Burleigh Heads for breakfast
  • Disliked — Outdoor pool is freshwater and not heated.

“All the comforts of home - on the beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 April 2008

Although being a time-share resort, the 6-story Mariner Shores Resort and Beach Club caters to walk-in travelers when units are available. Located on the Esplanade, a beach front park, the Mariner offers 60 luxuriously appointed, self-contained, spotless 1, 2, and 3 bedroom apartments, each with living room, bedrooms with queen beds, large baths, and designer kitchens. Each upper floor unit balcony offers superb views of the lifeguard patrolled beach across the street. Furnishings and SS appliances appeared to be rather new, super modern, and included 32" flat screen TV in living and master bedroom, DVD, CD, & VCR players, stacked washer and dryer, A/C, ceiling fans, recessed lighting, and the cupboards were stocked with all dishes, utensils, and small appliances one needs to set up household, and the large dining table easily seated six. Two bathrooms, one with a spa tub and the second with a stall shower completed the beautiful apartment. Underground secure access parking, lushly landscaped gardens, tennis court, gym, in- and outdoor pools, spa, sauna room, and more combine to make for a comfortable stay. A supermarket, post office, bottle shop, and other shops are across the street, as are some dining establishments. In summary, the Mariner Shores is a super resort in a choice beach front location, and one can easily spend a vacation time here in self contained luxury.

  • Liked — Super modern, comfortable accommodation
  • Disliked — $2 for a pool towel
