“The most expensive light meal ever, and took an hour to come!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

This looked a lovely place to stop for lunch, 2 adults and 2 children. Didnt seem too busy and it was nice to sit outside under the tree. Shortly after sitting down they took our order, 1 chicken baguette, 1 english breakfast, 1 kids chicken and chips and 1 kids cheesy pasta. Nothing too complicated I thought. The drinks came promptly and then we waited for an hour for the food to come, which was far from special, chicken baguette was dry, the kids chicken was supposed to be breaded but wasnt, the kids cheesy pasta was plain pasta wth cheese grated over the top, the all day beakfast was OK but bread hard. Which would not have been so bad apart from we were charged $100 for the this, we did ask earlier were food was, and we got no explnation why it was so late. We did feel really ripped off here, would not recommend to anyone.

“Disappointing and highly overpriced”

My husband and I ate here on our first evening in the area as we hoped that it would be something quite special having seen the interesting sounding menu selection and prices outside. How wrong we were. My husband ordered the lamb shank which was dry and very unappetising to look at as it had very obviously been sat around being kept warm in the kitchen for too long.
I ordered the Angel Hair pasta with seafood sauce which was supposed to include scallops (note the use of the plural) but in fact included just one. Again, the sauce was congealed and unappetising as I think this also had been sat around for too long in the kitchen.
The theme of cooking ahead and keeping food warm for too long continued with the dessert. The creme brulee was ok but the poached pear was overcooked and 'springy' which did not make for a pleasant eating experience. The chocolate sundae was ok but again nothing special.
I ordered a glass of wine and have to say it was the smallest measure of wine I have ever been offered in a restaurant.
The service was unbelievably slow on a far from busy night. There was only one other table of six people and the two of us by the end and we saw two of the six from the other table who had ordered dessert leave before it arrived because it took so long in coming! Having asked for the bill we waited so long for them to produce it that we wondered whether the staff had all gone home.
All in all it was a very disappointing experience. The food could be improved hugely if they cooked to order instead of cooking and keeping warm but they really need to address the prices they charge to reflect what they are providing in terms of food and service.

“Great food and helpful wait staff.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 December 2011

A group of 7 ladies out to enjoy a Christmas celebration. We had a great meal and were able to hear each other - unlike some restaurants we've been to in the past. A little pricey.
