For this art-lover, it was a fabulous week filled with so many wonderful memories!
Upon arrival, my hosts were attentive and charming, welcoming me into the superbly decorated guesthouse, which was built in 1897.
On a cold, rainy week, the warm fire burning in the beautiful dining room was so inviting. The vast and impressive art collection throughout the guesthouse kept me busy in between the drawing lessons. Our teacher, an accomplished artist in his own right, was so knowledgable and generous in his teaching, I feel my drawing skills have greatly improved as a result of having David's expert tutoring for the 5 whole days. His patience and persistence were invaluable to me and upon returning home, I've even planned to frame one of the works I completed under his guidance.
Each break between classes was most welcomed as our hosts kept our energy levels up with the most delicious food and fantastic coffee! The other students and I were looked after so very well.
My room was beautifully decorated, comfortably heated and roomy, yet still retained that cosy mountains allure. My bed was extremely comfortable, so much so that only the thought of the beautifully laid out yummy continental breakfast (and those great flat whites!) and the anticipation of a great day of art-making could make me leave it's warmth each morning.
Having to leave at the end of was the only low point...but I'm planning another trip to The Chalet soon!
Absolute bliss!
