We weer traveling through the area and decided to book a room, literally by lake Jindabyne. We came on an off-season time of the year (Spring) so there weren´t many guests. The friendly guy at the bottle-shop helped us check-in and explained how things worked and that was all fine.
All the amenities were open: dinner, swimming pool, gambling hall, the works.
The room was a basic but clean and a good affair with a good bed (I like good beds!!).
Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment: Yes, there was a cooked brekky but, it didn;t compliment the rest of the place. I think it was because it was all designed for 100s of guests and not the half a dozen of guests that were there when we were there.
Enough said about that becasue I give the place as a whole a Big Fat Plus!

Travelling in off peak times the reception desk closes early but we were given instructions on key pickup. The room we had made us think about staying longer. The room opened to a private balcony and a magnificent view of Lake Jindayne. Being a resort, there were a couple of instructions that you don't expect in a hotel - like if you don't empty your rubbish bin outside there is a fine and if you don't clean up the kitchen there is a fine etc. The bistro meals in off season are restricted to a bar selection but are good value, as is the bistro service for breakfast. We particularly appreciated an offer to provide a packed lunch as we were heading off to drive the Barry Way. Overall, I would be tempted to stay here again if passing through.

We stayed two nights in a lakefront studio apartment with its own large patio and undercover garage. Great views and quiet position. The apartment had a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower over bath and own washing machine and dryer. The kingbed was at the entrance to the unit but had curtains which could close it off. As it was tucked away it was a bit claustrophobic and didn't get much air. Next time we'd opt for one of the 2 bedroom apartments on the floor above. Restaurant meals were good. Easy walk across the road to the local pub and little shopping centre which has some nice boutiques/gift shops plus an Italian restaurant which serves great meals. We'd stay at Quality Resort Horizons again as the position was great and price represented good value - but make sure you pay the extra for a lakefront room.

You need a separate entry for the restaurant. Rooms are fairly average but the food and service in the restaurant is great. Enjoyed the set menu in winter. Desserts have greatly improved compared with last year but still could do with a boost. Staff are great. The duck, goat cheese tart, pork belly and chicken and steak dishes are probably the best items. Good wine selection too.
