“Fabulous Farmstay”

We stayed at the Highland Lodge for a 3 day break from camping around NSW. While the weather was not too great, we had a fabulous stay, and our kids just loved it. They got to feed the chickens, guinea fowl and ducks, collect eggs and brush and pet the horses, They really felt they were in heaven!
The rooms are quite pleasant, the kitchen well equipped, and the play structure and trampoline for the kids an added bonus. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful, and very beautiful.
We also found the attention from our host wonderful. They went out of their way for us, even after we left, when they took a lot of trouble to mail us an item we left behind! Great, down to earth people that made our visit to Australia even more special!

“A Real Find!”

I wasn't sure what to expect initially, not having been to a farm stay before. Highland Lodge has 3 units, they are very clean and comfortable and nicely appointed with a full kitchen. There is also a guest lounge with a roaring fire - perfect on those cold nights! Guest laundry and drying room (for snow gear) provided.
We visited with our children aged 8 & 12 and could hardly get them inside which was a testament to this place. Plenty to do from collecting eggs (and eating them!) and visiting all the friendly animals, walks around the property and climbing trees - enjoyable.
Patrick, Katrina & family are very friendly and it feels like visiting family - they are more than happy to involve you in the day to day running of the farm, for example we assisted (watched more likely) with ear tagging and drenching of the herd and enjoyed a ute ride to collect firewood for a bonfire.
Only 45 minutes or so to Charlotte Pass - so a good base for snow activities and very affordable for the budget conscious.

Well recommended - we'll be back!

“Perfect little slice of heaven”

We travelled to Lake Jindabyne in early Jan 2011 and were so glad to have chosen to stay at Highland Lodge. When we were greeted upon arrival, I felt like we were friends who'd come to stay for a few days and the great cabins made us feel very at home and extremely comfortable. The guest lounge is great, we watched a movie in there on the first night, and although the weather wasn't the best, the kids loved feeding the chooks and ducks and climbing up into the tree house. We spent a day up at Thredbo which was an easy drive from the cabins and we will definitely be going back again, hopefully in the not-too-distant future.

“Fantastic Farmstay in the Mountains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2010

We travelled to Jindabyne with our friends who have 2 kids (boy 10, girl 7 ) and we have 3 boys ages 7,6,4 years. We all had a fantastic time. The kids were kept busy feeding chickens, ducks, geese & the turkeys. Climbing trees, running around and generally enjoying the outdoors. We did some great walks around the whole property where we saw the beautiful views from the hilltop looking straight towards to the mountains.
Horse riding was close by, and the kids loved it. We drove up to Perisher Valley and Charlotte Pass and had a snow fight in the freshly made snow at Perisher.
Jindabyne wasn't far, and we could pickup our groceries etc. The accommodation was excellent. Clean, fully self contained with a great fully equipped kitchen. The guest lounge was warm and cosy with the fire always going for us, and a well stocked video collection for the kids. And our hosts Katrina, Patrick, Rhianna and Riley kept us informed on all the activities we could do, and were always willing to give the kids some feed for the chooks. We will definitely be back again !
