Out of the way, difficult to get to, dated and inadequate rooms. Host was bothersome and in our face, couldn't relax. Difficult to book with, don't return calls, website misleading with old pricing info. Doesn't cater well for families and children. Don't bother.

“Unbelievable Accommodation”

Altitude 1260 is by far the best kept secret in the Snowy Mountains.
I recently stayed with some friends during the 2011 ski season. The host was amazing and accommodated my every need. The girls and I wanted a weekend away where we could just enjoy each others company. Michelle and her family made this possible in every fine detail. The food was amazing along with the atmosphere and location…. A view that words can’t even describe….
Defiantly be back next year.

“Driveway a shocker !!!!”

It's ok but it's old and dated. It's not in thredbo and it's not in Jindabyne so you have no access to any bars or restaurants or night life etc. It's in the middle of nowhere. It has a 6km dirt, mud, steep, bumpy driveway with a hairpin turn - nightmare.

Room Tip: Make sure you google the location and ask about the driveway and meals because there are no shops...

This reviewer is correct in stating that we are not in one specific location. For the majority of our guests the fact that we are located out of town is key to their choice. Our location provides a true retreat from the busy winter crowds and offers the most amazing views in the Snowy Mountains.

Our road has undergone a major upgrade by the local council over the past couple of months and is now in excellent condition. It is unfortunate that the road had not been at its best throughout the winter period, although this is no longer the case. The single hairpin corner mentioned is easily negotiated with many delivery trucks travelling to the lodge weekly.

Throughout winter we run our own restaurant and bar and will be looking to extend our hours next winter.

Great food, great staff, great accommodation; what more could you want?
Stayed with family and friends and all thoroughly enjoyed: the fantastic views over the Thredbo Valley to Lake Jindabyne; thegenerous accommodation and; the outstanding hospitality of Sue & Scott (great breakfasts and dinners!).
Can't wait to return.

“Great views and nice atmosphere”

We have stayed here a few times and always enjoy our stay. Friendly hosts and great areas to sit around the fire and enjoy a drink or hot chocolate. Our kids enjoyed the ping pong table and pool table. The rooms are very comfortable and warm. The resort is high up with amazing views over Lake Jindabyne and the snow tipped mountains. The gravel road that leads up to it is an easy drive but watch out for wildlife on the road There is a resaurant and bar, and a great full breakfast is included. We found it easy getting to the ski tube each morning and also very close to Jindabyne. We stayed the weekend here with friends for my 50th birthday and the hosts organised a lovely dinner for us and were very accommodating with all our requests making it a memorable birthday. Thanks Scott and Sue.
