“grumpy staff and lousy bed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

The room was not too bad. Reasonably clean. The bed linens were not good. They had some sort of contamination that caused them to stick and become wet. A novel experience!

The staff person complained that he worked too hard and the chef was sick. He barricaded himself in at seven pm.You walk down an uneven flight of steps to the basement then climb up a set of steps to reception. Passing the soon to be barricaded doors on the way. On checkout at 8 am he still had the barricades in place. One time the steps were lighted. It was when the grumpy staff person needed to see to get firewood to keep himself warm.

I used the internet to check email. It barely worked. Dialup would be faster. Cost 5 bucks.

The heat was minimal and the shower lukewarm at best. A tall person would not be able to get under the shower head.

I wish I had found this site before booking this one.

By the way I was the only guest. Everybody else must have known. I had to book something because of business travel.

Room Tip: Read this blog and don't stay at the alpine.

“Terrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

$320 a night for horrible cheap foam mattresses on bunks with slats missing. Would have been more comfortable sleeping in the car. I have never felt so ripped off. Shower didn't work. The double bed was made up of two singles. Do not stay in this ghetto!

“Very basic room and ammenities but a good base to ski from”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2011

We stayed one night at Alpine Resort and were happy considering the price.

The room was very basic in a 1970's-80s kinda way ... but if youre not precious about decor and you just want to crash after a hard day on the slopes its not bad option.

Close to the main town centre if you want to eat out or rent ski gear.

“A very expensive and poorly run motel”

The owner practically does everything and he is a very rude, inconsiderate person. He basically told us that we abide by his rules and nothing else. The place is dirty. Our bathroom door was held together with masking tape. The top bunk bed has no safety rail and the the motel does not get serviced while you stay. When we walked in the bathroom was not spotless. With five people staying there were only 2 face washers, 1 small bottle of bath gel, 1 small shampoo, 1 small conditioner and nothing else.

The dining room is a hazard with rugs that roll up and on which I trip three times. The railing around the stairs does not meet OHS standard.

On the last morning of our stay we arrived to breakfast 2mins after closing and were treated like naughty children by the owner. He then proceeded to serve us breakfast which was reheated bacon and eggs.

Do not stay at this hotel you will be ripped off - it is an expensive hotel with no

“OMG - What a rip off”

Ok, ok...I know it's snow season, but $1060.00 for 3nights in a tiny one bedroom (apparently deluxe) 1queen and 2 singles room - absolutely disgusting. Don't get me wrong, it was clean, but servicing the room involved pulling the covers up over the beds (not tucking in, just thrown there) and placing towels on the beds. Rubbish bins not emptied, dishes not replaced with clean ones - how are we suppossed to wash them - in the bathroom sink with shampoo? If detergent supplied, I would've thought "ok, we have to wash the suckers too"

Room Tip: Delxue room - if this is their best room, stay there as a couple who wants to pay excess for a cheap...
