“Waste of hard earned savings.”

First of all, this place is NOT in jindabyne. To put it into terms of where it is, its 110 cab fare to the town from the hotel. If you are looking for a place that is in town and centrally located this is NOT it.

My friends and i were looking for a student based accommodation which would entail an atmosphere for a great nightlife. After being disappointed that "the station" was fully booked out. We were assured by our travel agent that this place was the next best thing. Our package was through "OZ snow" we bought the 6 day package arrive on the sunday and leaving the friday.

We arrived on the earliest flight on sunday at 8 and as soon as i turned my phone i received a call from the driver that they were picking us up in 1 hour, which was quite confusing as the travel documents said we were to be picked up at 7pm that night. So our plans for that day of hiring a car ,etc. had to be cancelled. We were picked up in a troop carrier as apparently the bus which we never saw the whole trip, had broken down. This had to be the most uncomfortable ride, ski bags in the middle all of us sitting on one side and our legs were higher then our heads.

Although commendations must go to the staff as they did provide us with transportation every day in their personal cars because the bus was broken down. That was about the only nice thing i have to say.

We arrived and there was no one in sight. There was at least 20 staff running the place and maybe 2 other guests. For a place that is advertised with a great bar and nightlife. This was disappointing. We were the only people in the whole place until the wednesday and thursday nights when a group from sydney were brought up for their "3 day package".

Apart from 4 other guests we were the only people the whole week who were going to perisher mountain. When we were buying tickets we were greeted with a price that was $100 more then what our travel agent had quoted. this was because we had to get the ski tube up the mountain as everyone else was going to thredbo so there would be no bus taking us all the way up. As students i can say we were fast running out of money.

To food now, We were provided with 2 dinners (when the other groups as up) and all included breakfasts. Breakfasts were what you expected, however dinners were another story. As this place was so far away from jindabyne we had no choice but to eat in their bar as they only provided food in their. There menu looked great, however every time one of my friends tried to order something, they were out of it. Leaving only ham and pineapple pizza and chips and wedges. No use heading to the bar unless you are absolutely sure you know what you are ordering. The bar tender had an attitude, a big one at that. She would stand in front of you for 30 seconds and if you hadn't made up your mind she would walk away and come back in 5 minutes. Again very disappointing

Overall the hotel is "average" the rooms are what you would expect, beds, tv and fridge. Without any room to move. The bathrooms are shared.

In conclusion, as a student who's saved most of his money for this trip, very disappointing at what we actually received.. Will NOT be recommending this to ANYONE.

“an average encounter”

having looked on trip advisor and at a travel agent for a good deal, thought snowy valley would have been a good idea....we were quite surprised and honestly a little disappointed. we arrived at canberra airport to be picked up at 6:45pm however called at 8am to advise the guy was an hour away coming to pick us up. So we had to cancel our hire car and wait around for him. furthermore when he arrived, it was not a coach transfer as what we had paid for, but rather a 4wd. being 4 guys with snowboard bags, we had to fit these in the car with us and were pretty much lying down in the car so we could all fit...quite uncomfortable for a 2 hour drive. at the resort we were told we couldnt get perisher ski passes and had to get them from town, although told by travel agent that the resort sold these. our room was small and to make matters worse there were 4 of us and 5 beds! which meant even more limited room. we were there 5 nights in peak season and for 3 of those nights, we received no help, staff were average and the bar had everything unavailable from their dinner menu except pizza. due to the resort being 15 minutes out of town, that was our only option too! pizzas were not too bad first night and quite average the last night due to the staff not really seeming to care as no one else was there. the 2 nights that midweek sydney people were around everything was pretty good with lively scene at the bar, coach transfers to the snow, bistro breakfast and dinners. other days for our 1 hour drive to the snow was in one of the guys small cars with 4 of us in wearing full ski gear- quite uncomfortable. overall it wouldnt be a place we return to due to average service, no variety for meals, being located away from everything else (felt like a truckstop on the highway) and transportation very average therefore not worth it.

My friends and I stayed here last week and had such a great time! Ive never been on a snow holiday before so didnt really know what to expect. Everything we needed was right there, we hired all our gear from the resort and it couldnt have been easier! The staff were very friendly and professional, they really went that extra mile for us. We loved the open deck spa overlooking the amazing views of lake jindabyne. The indoor heated pool and sauna area were perfect after a long day of boarding! The bistro food was really tasty and had plenty to choose from. They also have an awesome bar with great entertainment including live music and trivia.

I would definitely recommend and will be back again! Thanks for a great trip :)

“Never a let down! Staff are brilliant!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2011

This hotel really is fantastic for a great weekend of skiing. Admittedly not on the slopes, however we got a package deal which included our transfers to and from the mountain every day.

The food here is also really great, you can go back for seconds...and theres allsorts on offer.

The rooms are basic, but just what you need, with bunk sharing rooms available, doubles, family rooms, en suites, etc. The atmosphere on a weekend is very hectic, but purely because its so busy, and its such a good laugh!

The staff here are brilliant, from the people who clean the rooms to the guys who fit the boots and skis.

Had a really fantastic time, the manager will go out of his way to do anything for you to make your trip better, so i would ignore all of the bad posts, because if you do find anything wrong, they will fix it straight away for you!

All round great holiday!
