We stayed 2 nights at Chifley Doveton for a friend's wedding in the Dandenong area last month. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Chifley Doveton very much.

The room is new and modern, especially the bathroom with good lighting and plenty of room on the sink bench for our stuff. The bed is comfortable with clean crisp sheets. The room is quite big so I could do my yoga every morning. The room was well equiped with hair dryer, iron, ironing board and laptop-size safe (my 14 inch fitted in alright, but my partner's 17 inch could not fit in).

The staff were very nice. Both check-in and check-out staff were efficient and friendly. The staff at the cold water creek tavern and the breakfast were also very nice. The breakfast was very good. we got to order one hot breakfast each and have full access to the buffet area. And all those were included in the room rate.

Although the location of the hotel is not very central, we did not mind too much as it takes just about 5 minutes to drive to the central Dandenong, and the parking is free. And I remembered seeing a notice at their entrance indicating a shuttle bus service.

...what more could one possibly want?

We where surprised to see this modern hotel in a basically industrial area , rooms where as new and well presented . Staff all seemed professional , buffet breakfast was good value in our deal , the micro brewery could have been open earlier [opens at 5] especially as it was Grand Final replay day and we had to go else where . Room was quite except for a few rowdy revellers that where told to keep quite , good considering it was close to a freeway and this offered good access to the city .
