After selecting this "resort" from the internet, we arrived and was pretty surprised at the general run down appearance. However, we were on holidays and felt that it had a great location as we didn't intend to hire a car and would be out most days anyway.
Sorry, I know its vain, but the it was supposed to be supplied with a hair dyer and airconditioner. There was no hairdryer and the airconditioner didn't work. We went to reception and without any hesitation, offered us the honeymoon suite. Complete with spa and a working air con and I would have to say, it felt cleaner as well.
In general, the place was pretty shabby. It looks like they are waiting for the big development offer to come through and have perhaps decided not to spend any money on the place at all. A shame really. We were within in walking distance to everything we needed and the tours picked up from the door.
We were out everyday and had a ball. If your expectations of a tropical retreat aren't too high and you need a cheap place to stay, give it a go.

The good thing about this campsite is its location, near to the lagoon and restaurants, post shop and supermarket.
The bad things are countless.
First, don't be mistaken : this Whitsunday wnaderers Resort sometimes take the name of the Kaola Resort, same owner, jsut next to it but better value (it is a backpacker though)
The staff at the counter is so unfriendly it is almost rude and they are helpless. If you want to find your emplacement, go and grab one!
The camping is not quiete AT ALL, don't expect to haev a sleep during the night: bars and discos are just next door and the people around you got loud music in their cars when the clubs shut.
The kitchen is an open area with a table. No chair, no stove or whatever to cook. No fridge.
The sanitories are not worth to be designated as sanitorires but more like piggeries. # showers of the 5 were out of use, poor debit and fluffy things all over the grounds (haev your flip flop!!)

In the end, we were so much disappointed that we chose not to pay but the first night (we stood 4 nights). In short, this campsite is OK if your not looking at cleanless and you want to party all nights.

we stayed here a while ago and it was terrible. the rooms are filthy and the door has a 1 inch gap under it to ensure you don't sleep alone. we were upgraded to a spa room however i wouldn't wash a dog in the spa in our room. it was very cheap but very dirty, be warned you get what you pay for! we were checked in for 2 nights but we moved hotels.

Filthy dirty, a health hazard I cannot understand why the Australian authorities have not shut this place down, this does nothing to promote Australian tourism.

This place is worse than the worst backpacker places, but certainly is not back packer prices. Prior for leaving for Airlie Beach I booked my dog into better and far cleaner accomodation

Who ever owns this should be ashamed, this is not a 3 star it's a no star. Do yourself a big favour and give this place complete miss. We booked through a travel agent, I think all travel agents need to be warned about this place and should not recommend it to their custoomers.

We were booked in for two nights and stayed one night . We stayed the first night out of nessesity, having arrived at about 8pm on a Saturday night it was unlikely that we would get another room, but we checked out at the crack of dawn the next day. I will definately take this up with the relevant authorities, because this place is a health risk.
