“Great value and location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2012

Stayed here for 2 nights while working in Airlie Beach. Very reasonably priced and rate included breakfast (buffet with toast, cereal, croissants, juice, tea, coffee).

Room could have been cleaner but not too bad.

I had a garden view room but could still the sea which was nice. No balcony though so probably worth paying a bit extra for that if you're going to spend more time in the room.

Would definitely recommend.

Pool is lovely!

“Super clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2012

We paid a last minute rate for one night on our drive south.

The lady at reception was lovely and brought us up milk for coffee ready for our early morning departure. This is probably the cleanest place in airlie beach and the bed was reasonably comfortable. Decor was a little dated but well maintained.

The pool and restaurant area is beautifully kept and the sea is right there.

The only complaint is the doors being closed in other rooms echoes down the bare halls and the walls are paper thin. Makes for a noisy evening.

Otherwise great value for money.

“Pay the extra for a sea view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2012

We had pre-booked a garden view room, and on arrival quickly realised we had made a mistake. The room was OK, but just that. The Hotel is in a stunning location on a small headland almost completely surrounded by the sea, and we had somehow managed to end up in a room with no appreciable view of it! We managed to book an upgrade at reception to a first floor room overlooking the pool and sea, with a large (very well used!) balcony.

We had little reason to fault the five days we spent here. We found the staff friendly but discreet. The housekeeping was faultless and reception staff always nothing short of polite and helpful. The only very minor issue was the somewhat hit and miss service provided by the tour desk. Certainly nothing to complain about, just more noticeable because of the excellent service throughout the rest of the hotel.

Our room was a good size and very well equipped with everything we could need. As the windows stretched the full length of the room, the window blinds could be lifted completely giving a full panoramic view of the sea from the room. Another nice touch was that the windows were mirror-tinted so that people on the pool and garden area below could not see in from outside even if the blinds were fully open.

We had booked a package that included the Tropical buffet breakfast. This was very nice, good value and the restaurant was in a super pool-side location overlooking the sea. We didn't eat dinner here as we opted to eat at the many venues in town, so can't comment on the meals. That said, it always seemed to have plenty of customers.

The pool and gardens were well maintained and never busy, so there was always plenty of sun loungers and shady tables available if you had a spare couple of hours.

Overall we have nothing but good memories of our stay here, and find it difficult to think of one thing that could have been changed that would have significantly improved our experience. I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel, but pay the extra for the sea view. It's worth every penny!

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a sea view.

“Excellent Hotel in Beautiful Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

Husband and I spent four nights here in early February 2012. It is in the most sensational location on the headland. Our room looked out across the Coral Sea and we could see round into the bays on either side. The view was stunning! The room was exactly as described - very well appointed, comfy bed, large sitting area, balcony with a hammock and spa bath overlooking the "to die for" view. The pictures on their website are good, but can't do it real justice.
The room was well maintained, balcony furniture was brand new, the hammock was clean and very comfortable. It's probably a while since the bathroom was installed but it was perfectly acceptable and immaculately clean.
We ate in the restaurant several times and the food is really good. Breakfast is fantastic - well worth paying for the full cooked option if you can get it into the room rate. The food at dinner was superb!
It's fair to say that there are one or two "characters" amongst the staff. The housekeeper and one of the restaurant staff obviously hadn't been to charm school, but we adopted a sense of humour and would return to this hotel like a shot!

Room Tip: R 213 had one of the best views in the hotel.

“Heaven on earth!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Great location in Airlie Beach! walking distance to restaurants and nightlife. Jacuzzi tubs on the balcony overlooking the gorgeous water...not to mention an hammock as well! The room has a kitchen in it so you can make dinner in if you wish. Great room for a great price!

Room Tip: ask for a water view with the jacuzzi tub and hammock on the patio
