We had pre-booked a garden view room, and on arrival quickly realised we had made a mistake. The room was OK, but just that. The Hotel is in a stunning location on a small headland almost completely surrounded by the sea, and we had somehow managed to end up in a room with no appreciable view of it! We managed to book an upgrade at reception to a first floor room overlooking the pool and sea, with a large (very well used!) balcony.
We had little reason to fault the five days we spent here. We found the staff friendly but discreet. The housekeeping was faultless and reception staff always nothing short of polite and helpful. The only very minor issue was the somewhat hit and miss service provided by the tour desk. Certainly nothing to complain about, just more noticeable because of the excellent service throughout the rest of the hotel.
Our room was a good size and very well equipped with everything we could need. As the windows stretched the full length of the room, the window blinds could be lifted completely giving a full panoramic view of the sea from the room. Another nice touch was that the windows were mirror-tinted so that people on the pool and garden area below could not see in from outside even if the blinds were fully open.
We had booked a package that included the Tropical buffet breakfast. This was very nice, good value and the restaurant was in a super pool-side location overlooking the sea. We didn't eat dinner here as we opted to eat at the many venues in town, so can't comment on the meals. That said, it always seemed to have plenty of customers.
The pool and gardens were well maintained and never busy, so there was always plenty of sun loungers and shady tables available if you had a spare couple of hours.
Overall we have nothing but good memories of our stay here, and find it difficult to think of one thing that could have been changed that would have significantly improved our experience. I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel, but pay the extra for the sea view. It's worth every penny!
Room Tip: Pay the extra for a sea view.
