“Pleasantly surprised”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

We arrived in Airlie Beach after a days driving and were just looking for a 1 night stay. At Reception, the staff member was dealing with a very disgruntled guest who was extremely rude and who told us not to stay. This was in my mind as I paid our room tariff and accepted our key.
Our room was lovely. Beautiful ocean views as requested, very clean, well equipped and great value for money. Breakfast was included in our rate which was an added bonus.
When we passed reception a little later, the man at the desk apologised profusely for the abuse from the man - he was very apologetic, polite, and throughout the ordeal, remained very professional.
Not everyone is happy with their stay on every occasion, but the way complaints are handled can make a huge difference. Well done to the front desk (english) gentleman. We will be back.

Room Tip: Request an ocean view room - you wont be disappointed.

“Beautiful hotel, relaxing stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We booked a sea view room at Coral Sea Resort and it was fantastic – the room had wonderful uninterrupted views. Very clean, nice kitchenette and a great bathroom where you can access the balcony area where there is a spa – nice to relax with a bottle of champers and take in the view.

The balcony also had a table and chairs and a hammock, a nice spot to take in a good book.

We ate at the restaurant both nights as the food was so good.

Definitely going back to this resort.

Room Tip: Book as sea view room

“Watch out for the bed bugs!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2011

Our room had bed bugs which is really not good enough when you're paying a few hundred dollars a night. When I went to complain to reception the guy there tried to blame us for bringing the bed bugs into the room - SO rude. Then, when I started to express how dissatisfied I was, he agreed to refund just half our room fee and he acted like he was doing me such a big favour. Would never stay there again and would never recommend it to anyone.

“Convient and relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

My family and I had an amazing holiday at Airlie Beach. Celebrating an anniversary and our daughter's 18th. We all felt relaxed as soon as we arrived. The location is very peaceful. Accomodation with Ocean Views and breakfast included for 4 ppl which I thought was good value. Your room is always air conditioned. We stayed 6 nights and I only booked it 2 weeks before we stayed. Breakfast is a self served buffet, with everything from fresh fruit, cereals, juice, muffins, crossiants, ham or salami, cheese, tomato, yoghurts, wholemeal, mutigrain, white and raisin bread, tea and coffee with all the different milks including soy. All you need except bacon and eggs and expresso which is understandable an extra cost as it does state the breakfast is Continental. It is served between 7am-10pm, but you could start at 6.30am if everything was ready. You can take your breakfast and sit on the grounds, not just limited to the restaurant area. Some crockery is dirty though.

Abel Point Marina is only 2 mins walk from the resort for your day cruises. Your pick up anyway and brought back to your hotel, if you don't wish to walk. I would recommend Cruise Whitsundays from the Able Point over Fantasea for your day cruises. Fantasea cruises are booked in the town which is only 5 mins walk from the resort. We did both. Fantasea cruises leave from Shute Harbour which is about a 11km bus ride to the pier. Staff and food is much better with Cruise Whitsundays and nicer conditioned ferries. Day cruises are expensive but they do include your meals. There is wharf at the resort which the water sports are purchased from.Resort guests and outsiders book here. There is jet skiing, parasailing, tube riding. You must remember it all depends on the weather conditions.

This resort does deserve its 4 stars. It's just a bit tired and they have the old fashion key for your room. The pool is huge and clean and you can swim until 10pm. The beds are comfortable and our room was the nautical theme. Don't expect glamour. Free in house movies if you have the time and cable.
Housekeeping wasn't always done properly, as in our refill of toiletries, pool towels and they forgot to wash our bath. It depended of which person did our room that day. The toiletries are very nice. Any problems with had were solved easily.

Some staff are very nice and some just average. I found the lady who looks after the resort shop quite useless with her information.

The shops, restaurants and nightclubs and pubs and lagoon are great in town.Security is fantastic at night. All our walking was flat.

We would definately come back again to Airlie Beach but would try the rooms with a hammock next time. If coming from Sydney, I would recommend flying to Hamilton Island and then catch the ferry to the mainland. We had to catch 2 planes, which takes to long.
Airlie Beach is a very transit town, so you get to meet people from all over the world here.

Room Tip: Ocean views if your budget is not tight

“Great stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

The hotel is in a fantastic location, the view is incredible - from my balcony i saw seals, turtles, fish, etc. The staff were prompt, friendly and went out of their way to help.

the restaurant during breakfast was pleasant, the pool was great. one of the huge benefits of the resort is that it is not up the hill with the rest of the accommodation which is a nightmare to walk up.

we also had our wedding here which went flawlessly. Thanks Sam and Karen!

Room Tip: Room 223 is the best one!!!
