“Oasis of civility”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

Stayed here for a few of nights either side of our sailing trip, the rooms are of a very high quality for somewhere that falls into the budget accomodation category. They are spacious and very well equiped with a full kitchenette (along with coffee and tea gratis) and large and comfortable and spotless bathrooms, again with complimentary shampoo & soap etc. The beds are also of a high quality and both rooms we stayed in had excellent air conditioning.

The location could not be more central in Airlie Beach with the main drag and access to the fantastic lagoon just feet away, whilst at the same time it's set back far enough from the road to provide some respite from the party animals and general eejits that populate the bars and pubs across the street after dark.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, we were able to check in early as our room was available and also check out slighly closer to our bus departure time as the room wasn't required straight away. It had that nice personal touch and an emphasis on customer service that makes you feel good about somewhere.

“A good base for a short stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

We stayed at Whitsunday on the Beach for one night before our sailing trip. Its very basic, but clean and centrally located. Our room had a double bed and two singles, so if you are travelling with friends or family it would be ideal. The gates are locked a night, so it felt secure (they give guests a key to get in!) and there are parking spaces available. There was some noise at night from the nearby bars - the hotel is located just off the main street, but with the air conditioning on we couldn't hear it. This is a 'no thrills' hotel, but we would stay there again if we ever go back for another sailing trip. There is free, fast wifi available in the rooms.

“A lovely relaxing place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

This place was great value for money for those who don't want to break the bank or stay in one of the many hostels in Airlie. The staff are a little bit older than your average backpacker places - they are very helpful and knowledgable about the local area. My room had a large double bed, kitchen, bathroom, sofa, tv and large balcony and was very comfortable and clean. Great location on the main strip and a private entrance to the lagoon. Gates are locked at 20:00 so it felt very secure.

Be aware that this hotel is on the main strip and I did hear loud music each night although it was not enough to keep me awake. If you're a light or early sleeper it might be annoying.

All in all, no problems and highly recommended.

Room Tip: I stayed in the very end room on the top floor. Although this meant I had an extra window and the be...

“Excellent choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2011

After three weeks travelling as a backpacker, this was the right place to recharge my batteries and to get some rest.
The owners are very friendly and helpful and the apartments are comfortable. If you are looking for a place to stay in Airlie Beach this one is the right choice.

“Spacious and very clean appartment - definitely recommended.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2011

I stayed here August 2011 with one friend. We were in an upstairs apartment which could have easily slept 4 so we had lots of room. The welcome at reception was really friendly and thorough making sure that we had milk and the wifi key. BTW, the wifi is free which is a huge bonus in Australia. Otherwise, the location is excellent. Some guests have said on here that the apartments are in a noisy area at nite but I didn't have trouble sleeping as I believe they have sound-proofed the walls. Each apartment also has a nice balcony which seems to add further to the space of the apartments. Overall, a great choice in Airlie Beach!
