We brought my husbands parents and two kids here for two nights this weekend. Love love love the short walk to everything. No hills either, handy if you have little kids or elderly guests! Others are right about the roundabout just in front, but in january with sitcom, can't hear much. Good layout, nice pool (practically on the front footpath), BBQ, good facilities in apartment. But it is not luxury, partly refurbished, (nicely) good space and storage, no dishwasher, needs a paint and some mould remover in ceiling of bathroom. But really great value, and the staff are lovely. We will come back.

This is great for families, within walking distance from the lagoon, also has a pool right at your door. The staff are really friendly and helpful with any bookings, transport, local knowledge. Don't need a car if you stay here, can walk to the attractions at airlie beach and then easy to catch transport to the marinas / harbour for any day trips to the islands. Recommend day dream island for families with young kids. Clean and tidy with a kitchen so you can do a shop and cook your own food if you want, not luxurious but very comfortable and was fantastic for our family. Also BBQ by the pool. Well priced. Recommend catching a bus to the local larger supermarkets if planning on staying a while and cooking as the local supermarket is quite pricey. It is on the main street but we did not find it too noisy. Has DVD player so spent the mornings at the lagoon and afternoons in the pool and watching DVD's while the little one had a sleep. Perfect! Stayed 8 nights, great holiday! Would definately come again.

We stayed here in June 2011 and had a great time. The apartment was at the end of the main strip and you could walk to all restaurants and the beach. Although the apartments were a bit old they were clean, comfortable and had everything we needed, if we felt like cooking a feast there was all the utensils available. The managers were very friendly and happy to help with booking tours or recommending restaurants. They even got us a great discount on the reef tour. We would definitely stay here if we went up there again.

We got this apartment the day before our stay after seeing a great rate on wotif and calling Ian directly to discuss options. For the price it was cheaper by far than other options and cheaper than the single room motel we had stayed at in rockhampton. It was good on a number fronts - very close to the shops, beach and action, big self contained apartment, great service from Ian. But it won't be for everyone - our major disappointment was the room and bedclothes smelt like smoking. Also no real view and its right on a main roundabout so lots of car noise day and night.

But overall good value.
