We turned up quite late at night and were looking for cheap accommodation in Palm Cove, which is a feat in itself as its quite a stunning area with a beautiful beach, lovely restaurants and a relaxed atmosphere, but its reknowned for being an expensive place for rooms and hotels. Unfortunately the first place we went to was booked, so we carried on down the road and found 'Palm Cove Accomodation' run by a lovely guy called Marty. We struck lucky!!!

Being english and in our thirties we were looking for friendly, clean, spacious accomodation which was affordable, but was far better than backpacking. We were sick of the basic prison cells that you got in Cairns, they are cheap yes, but awful! So we were after some comfort, but at low cost.

Well we found it. Wonderful people, extremely helpful with eveything you wanted to know, bottle bank over the road, great pub over the road serving good food, BBQ outside, self catering facilities in your room, a lovely powerful hot shower, clean and comfortable with all the facilities you could want, and to be honest was a lot better than some of the really expensive places we had stayed in across Australia. PLUS... the accomodation is very very close to the beach. You're surrounded by all the upmarket places, but this was a haven.
