“Superb hotel and location right on the beach”

We spent a week at the Sea Temple in Palm Cove in July 2011. Families apartments are just stunning, very spacious (100+ square meters), decorated with taste, nearly luxurious. The hotel is literally on the beach and the beach is stunning, 8 km long, perfect for walk and runs. In the Australian winter there are no nasty jelly fish, so you can swim safely in front of the hotel. If you are there during the hot season then you should go and swim in the supervised part of the beach which is 15 min away toward the heart of Palm Cove. We tried to look for the nearby resident croc but didn't spot him. Palm Cove is smaller and quieter than Port Douglas, so again perfect for families, not if you are a party animal.

“A week of relaxation!”

We stayed here for a week..I wish we could have stayed longer! Staff throughout the stay were fabulous.. Housekeeping always read our minds in what we needed done in the room.

We booked a room on the top floor and had our own spa and BBQ on the top floor! All the facilities in the room were great.

Food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner were very nice and tasty. Room service was of a high quality also.

We had a couples massage at Mii Spa and it was well worth it!

Room Tip: Drinks by the pool is a must!

“A stunning resort , beautiful pool , recommend swim out !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

We stayed at the Sea Temple Resort Palm Cove for 9 nights from 5th-15th of January 2012 , I was hesitant at first knowing that this was the wet season, and nth qld was subject to downpours at this time of year , well, we received 5 mins of rain in 10 days !!!. The weather was georgeous , not at all what I expected. Hot and Sunny .... We stayed in a two bedroom swim out apartment , stunning , georgeous , beautiful , we didnt book through the hotel direct , as we received it a tad cheaper through "The Boutique Collection" , needless to say their service was exceptional. The room was beautiful, clean and modern. I have read reviews about the sea temple saying the rooms were dirty but ours was beautiful , could not complain , if I had to complain , all I would say was , there was only three forks when we needed 4 - ahhh thats it !. The view from the swim out apartment was amazing, having the pool directly from the balcony is great , if anything , the pool was a little too warm to swim in , but that is nothing to do with the resort , just the suns issues i guess. The pool had to be around 29 degrees in the water, not to good to cool off in. But the pool was beautiful, We just visited a few other pools in the area to cool off ! . The staff were all very helpful and cocktails from the bar were awesome. I travelled with my husband and two young children, and the pool was always quiet. Only a short walk to the shops of Palm Cove and beautiful restraunts. One thing , it is rather expensive to occupy yourself in Palm Cove , most activities for a family of 4 require $ 500 plus . We only went on the Quicksilver snorkling and my hubby went out on a fishing charter , but both added up to over $ 1000. If you eat in , then costs would be reduced somewhat , but there are just so many beautiful restraunts to eat in , who wants to stay home. All in all this was a stunning resort with beautiful facilities , pool in Jan is a tad to warm , but if thats all I had to complain about , im doing well. Highly recommend this resort , beautiful , and thanks to the Boutique Collection for organising a wonderful resort !.

“Pure Luxury”

Sea Temple is one of the best hotels I have stayed in.

We were travelling from the UK and this was our first stop. The staff were excellent and ensured our room was ready on arrival. The room was extremely clean and very large. We had opted for the roof terrace one bedroom apartment. The bedroom was large with a large bed and ample wardrobe space. The apartment was very modern and nicely laid out. The roof terrace was the size of the apartment with a four seater jacuzzi, large BBQ, 6 seater table and sun loungers. We also had a large balcony.

We ate in the hotel a few times and I am pleased to say the food was of a 5 star standard. I would also reccommend the cocktails particularly the mango daiquiri. We were also impressed by the breakfast and chose to eat outside.

The staff were extremely friendly and always willing to help. They are an asset to the hotel.

I have no negatives to say about Sea Temple and although costly, I feel the quality of customer service and the hotel itself is worth it.

Room Tip: The roof terrace is worth the extra money

“Beautiful and Relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

We stayed here for a few days in the middle of a three week tour around Australia, so to find ourselves in a large one-bedroom apartment with a washer/dryer was a fantastic and welcome surprise. The living area had plenty of room for multiple roll-away beds if needed, however on the first night I was confused that there were no drapes to cover the large wall of windows leading out to our large balcony overlooking the courtyard. Being concerned that the sun would wake our daughter early, we squeezed the roll-away into the small bedroom. I finally figured out the next afternoon that there were large sliding plantation doors around the outside of the balcony instead.

The restaurant on property was very good and we ended up eating there a couple times because we were in Palm Cove over Christmas and on Christmas Day all of the restaurants, and the hotel, were offering overpriced Chissy Lunches (in excess of $160 per person) and then closed for dinner. Luckily the pool bar was open during the day and the main restaurant open for a less pricy set menu in the evening.

Our included buffet breakfast met the Australia standard. Based on all the places we stayed I think there is a basic required breakfast menu that all hotels have to offer of eggs, sautéed mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, bread and pastries, cereal, yogurt, fruit, and deli meats and cheeses. The quality of the items varies from hotel to hotel though - for instance canned fruit vs. fresh. (It is fresh fruit at Sea Temple.)

The hotel is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the main drag along the beach where all the local restaurants are. During the heat and humidity of the summer and "green" season (read rainy), this can be an inconvenient and uncomfortable proposition. We were told there was no regular shuttle service. However one evening we did manage to hijack a guy with a golf cart who appeared to be offering some kind of informal shuttle...but we never found out how to actually hail him for a specific trip. The distance from the main drag may be a blessing however. We like quiet rooms and I have no idea how loud the noise from the people and cars on the street could be and to what hour of the evening and all the hotels along the drag are right on the street.

There are three pools in the beautifully landscaped courtyard and one is a lagoon pool with a graded entry, which is great for families with young toddlers. The largest pool has a lot of shallow areas spread out around the perimeter making it fun for kids. I was not aware of any activities for kids offered by the hotel, but there is a lot to do in the area.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. WiFi is only available in the lobby. It is free using a password that changes frequently so you have to request it from the front desk.

My only minor complaint was regarding the air conditioner in our room. While it definitely had the most effective cooling capability of all the hotels we stayed at during our trip, there was a big long vent pointed directly at our bed so temperature management was a bit challenging.

Room Tip: If you plan to spend a lot of time by the pool, there are a few rooms that open up directly to priva...
