We stayed but one night at Anne and Arthur Gormack's Arrowtown Homestay while on a madcap exploration of South Island. Their home, which they designed and built, is lovely with an incredible view. The location is perfect for walking to town and back after dinner, and it is so quiet. We stayed in the spacious lower floor of their home which is essentially a separate two-bedroom, two-bath apartment. The bedroom was well appointed; the bed comfortable with quality linens. Magazines were placed on the nightstands as well as an emergency flashlight. The bathroom was sparkling clean with a wonderful shower, good towels and a towel warmer. A comfortable guest lounge with computer, t.v., dvd player, tea and coffee making supplies was inviting along with an outdoor guest sitting area, both of which overlooked the marvelous view. Anne offered the use of their pool, which looked extremely inviting as it was a hot day, but we were set on exploring Arrowtown and it's river walk/Chinese town memorial. Before we left for town, we washed a load of laundry and when we returned Anne had dried our clothes and set them in the lounge. She and Arthur were friendly and so helpful.
