“Excellent Golfing Resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Millbrook Resort is just 5 mins from Arrowtown and about 20 mins from Queenstown. The resort provides a pickup and drop-off at Queenstown Airport for a fee of NZD$20/- per person. Check in was flawless. We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa unit overlooking the golf course. There was a large kingsized bed with adequate reading light and a flat screen TV. The bathroom was functional with a shower and toilet on one side and a bathtub on the other. There were two separate wash hand basins. Toiletries were the basic shower gel, hand lotion and conditioner. There was no toothbrush, toothpaste or shaving kit. A friend asked for a shaving kit and was told to buy one from the shop! I did ask for a sewing kit and was given one.
We had a small sitting room with another TV a working gas fireplace. This was very handy for the cold nights even in summer! The villa was equipped with a Kitchenette - cook top, dishwasher, fridge cutlery, pots and pans, and tea and coffee making equipment.
There was a iron and ironing board. But there was NO safe.
A washing machine and dryer was in the little cupboard in the corridor shared by the two adjacent villas. There was also washing powder. This was very handy for washing the cloths after golf.
Internet is available in the resort. A daily broadband rate of NZ$20/- for either cable or Wi-Fi. However if you wanted only to check emails then there is a free 30 min login per device per 24 hours. It is slow but functional.
Free transfers to and from Arrowtown anytime. Just ask concierge. There are free shuttles to Queenstown and back on the hour except at 1.00pm. Best to book as they get full when the resort is crowded.
Breakfast cost NZD$28/- per person per day. The selection was limited but adequate.
The Japanese Restaurant was pricy. The "Wagu" was dry and wasn't a bit marbled! I thought a good Angus Beef steak was juicier and tasted better.
Golf - there are three 9 hole courses - the Remarkables, Arrow and Coronet. Cost to play as an in house guest is NZD$80/- per 18 holes per person. Cart is NZD$50/-. We found the courses in good condition and the greens true.
Nearby is Jack's Point Golf Course - picturesque and tough on a windy day. The Private Hills Golf Course is very nice and challenging, but cost NZD$500/- for a round of golf.
There are a few good fine dining restaurants around the area like Saffron, Wai, Gantleys, Amisfield and you would do better eating there. There is also good old fish and chips in Queenstown.

“Fantastic stay”

We spent Christmas at Millbrook and thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in a 2 bedroom self catering cottage. The cottage had all the necessary equipment, it was spacious and well maintained. The grounds of the resort are immaculate. We travelled with our 2 girls, 5 and 8 years old and we spent most of our time at the indoor heated pool, as well as in one of the 3 spa pools. We enjoyed sundowners and cocktails at the The Hole-In-One restaurant as well as a light meal. The food was delicious.
We are already looking forward to our next stay at Millbrook.

Hi macfamilyof4,
Thank you for choosing to stay at Millbrook Resort over Christmas and for taking the time to post your review. It was a hot Christmas this year and so it is good to hear you found some cool in the swimming pool and hot pools. It is definitely one of the best ways to relax at Millbrook on a hot day.
You also can't beat a cold glass of beer or local wine at the Hole in One or Millhouse while you watch the sun set over the course.
We hope you visit us again soon.
On behalf of the owners and the team at Millbrook, thank you once again for your review.

“Golfers Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

I surprised my husband with a week at this great resort for his 50th birthday, christmas 2010. What a great location, right in the middle of Coronet Peak and The Remarkables. We got the golf package that included breakfast every morning as well as golf every day. We found it very reasonably priced and such a great place to go and relax. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help. Arrowtown is such a beautiful spot, very quiet and away from busy Queenstown.

Dear Fraz964,
We are glad you had a great experience at Millbrook for your husband's surprise 50th Birthday and hope it was a birthday to remember! We are lucky to be positioned where we are, surrounded by stunning mountains like Coronet Peak and The Remarkables.
Sounds like you booked our Stay and Play package which is great as it gives you golf and breakfast for each night you book, great for the keen golfer!
We are also lucky to be located so close to Arrowtown, which is a wonderful town full of character and charm and definitely makes a welcome change to the hustle and bustle of Queenstown.

“Beauty at its best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

Four of us visited Millbrook in Jan 2012. Have been to Queenstown many times before but have always wanted to stay here. This place was amazing. Fantastic service, the guys who drive the golf carts were so nice and friendly, had alot of laughs as they drove us around the resort. The food was perfect. The Millhouse dinner was just great. Our waiter was such a nice young man and very informative about the food that we were being served, he also knew alot about the wine. We also ate at all the other restaurants on site and could not fault one of them.
We also played a game of golf and we thoroughly enjoyed the course. The wonderful scenery from every hole is a plus. My sister went to the Spa and had a massage and said it was the best shes ever had.
Millbrook was everything we hoped it would be. We wanted something 5 star and away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Millbrook had it all. The accomodation, food and service was great. Will we be going back, you bet we cant wait. Well done Millbrook, you rock.

“Hole in One cafe - top of its game”

Whenever we visit Arrowtown & Queenstown which is two or three times a year, we always go to the Hole in One Cafe at the Millbrook Resort. It's a classy setting, very tasty food and good value for money . Excellent, friendly & thoughtful service. I have a few allergies so it's always appreciated when the finer details are noted and acted on. They said, "see you again!" and yes, you will!

Dear Anita G,
Thank you for being a regular visitor to the Hole in One Cafe and for your review. We try and cater for people with allergies as best we can, so it's good to hear your experience was a good one. The Hole in One setting is pretty unique and the rural aspect with the ducks and pond surrounding you make it a relaxing place to have lunch and/or spend a whole afternoon.
See you again soon.
