Millbrook Resort is just 5 mins from Arrowtown and about 20 mins from Queenstown. The resort provides a pickup and drop-off at Queenstown Airport for a fee of NZD$20/- per person. Check in was flawless. We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa unit overlooking the golf course. There was a large kingsized bed with adequate reading light and a flat screen TV. The bathroom was functional with a shower and toilet on one side and a bathtub on the other. There were two separate wash hand basins. Toiletries were the basic shower gel, hand lotion and conditioner. There was no toothbrush, toothpaste or shaving kit. A friend asked for a shaving kit and was told to buy one from the shop! I did ask for a sewing kit and was given one.
We had a small sitting room with another TV a working gas fireplace. This was very handy for the cold nights even in summer! The villa was equipped with a Kitchenette - cook top, dishwasher, fridge cutlery, pots and pans, and tea and coffee making equipment.
There was a iron and ironing board. But there was NO safe.
A washing machine and dryer was in the little cupboard in the corridor shared by the two adjacent villas. There was also washing powder. This was very handy for washing the cloths after golf.
Internet is available in the resort. A daily broadband rate of NZ$20/- for either cable or Wi-Fi. However if you wanted only to check emails then there is a free 30 min login per device per 24 hours. It is slow but functional.
Free transfers to and from Arrowtown anytime. Just ask concierge. There are free shuttles to Queenstown and back on the hour except at 1.00pm. Best to book as they get full when the resort is crowded.
Breakfast cost NZD$28/- per person per day. The selection was limited but adequate.
The Japanese Restaurant was pricy. The "Wagu" was dry and wasn't a bit marbled! I thought a good Angus Beef steak was juicier and tasted better.
Golf - there are three 9 hole courses - the Remarkables, Arrow and Coronet. Cost to play as an in house guest is NZD$80/- per 18 holes per person. Cart is NZD$50/-. We found the courses in good condition and the greens true.
Nearby is Jack's Point Golf Course - picturesque and tough on a windy day. The Private Hills Golf Course is very nice and challenging, but cost NZD$500/- for a round of golf.
There are a few good fine dining restaurants around the area like Saffron, Wai, Gantleys, Amisfield and you would do better eating there. There is also good old fish and chips in Queenstown.
